What are some of the Civilizations of interest that most people will be planning to implement once the game is released? (Should it have adequate support.)

I used to say every modder tries to make Israel and the Inuit.

A starting point would be the most popular Modded Civs for Civ V - presuming that the Design Team hasn't coopted any of them for Civ VI or VI DLCs already...

My own favorites tend to be pretty eclectic 'groups' from either ancient - to - renaissance civs, European or Central Asian or Native American 'Civs', so the list would be, in no particular order:
Scythians (already possibly in Civ VI, based on identification of a Leader)
Golden Horde
Song Dynasty China
Kazakhs
Olmecs
Chinook
Comanches
(Lakota) Sioux
Haida
Picts
Mughals
Kievan Russ

Since it already obvious that they are going to keep strait-jacketing Civilizations into a single set of attributes, virtually all of the Civilizations in Civ VI will be open to Modding with a different set of 'Uniques': England/Britain with Henry VIII as Leader, Egypt with Hatshepsut instead of Cleopatra V, the Mongols with Kublai instead of the Chingis Khan, China with Anybody But Qin, etc.

Well, I don't care whether anyone wants it or not, I'm splitting Japan into sixteen (ish) again.

I'm the type to do whatever Civ they feel like at the time, but the three I really want to do in 6 are Norway, Haiti and the Anishinaabe. After that, whatever.

Doing one civ per continent could be cool...

Right now, doing my home state of Colorado has interested me.

As well as that, Hungary, Wallachia, and Dahomey have all garnered my attention, as well as perhaps porting my Kanem mod.

Colorado? Are you thinking of doing the Pueblo or someone, or are you thinking more along the lines of legal-cannabis-based unique abilities?

There will definitely be a Finland once the game is released. :)

After that, Italy, and then most likely alternative leaders, better if the game supports them.

I'm starting studies in History, so the modding research will nicely pass as actual studies. :p

I'll just convert over all my civ 5 mods (Rum, Trebizond, Armenia Cilicia, Gokturk Empire) and then I don't know. Well see what people will work on when Civ VI is out.

Also nice comic Sukritact. ;)

I'm a 3D modeller who is willing to help out some people with their stuff, especially since coding is not my forte. I myself am interested in making Vietnam, Prussia, the Netherlands, and Phonecia.

Also making alternate leaders for the base civs sounds like a lot of fun.

I never finished my Mississipian Mod for Civ4, so I might restart work on those mounds/buildings for Civ6.

As an Irishman, I always wanted to make the Gaels. I know they've been done before and will probably be done again but I have my own ideas.

Wallachia has jumped to number one on my list right now, just because I've been sculpting their leader. I still need to design the whole civ though. :crazyeye:

3D moded in civ V as well? Aly leaders are always fun to make, a lot of things that you can do with it.

I really want to see the prussian, maybe the vatican and most of all Moussa Menssa, the "King of Africa"

(my first message on this forum :D)

Fleshed out what civs I want to do a bit more, in alphabetical order:
  • Anishinaabe (Pontiac)
  • Haiti (Toussaint Louverture) [Maybe Duvalier as well if I feel naughty]
  • Indonesia (Sukarno) [Modern Indonesia, not Majahapit or whatever]
  • Korea (Sejong)
  • Lorraine (Rene II/Leszczynski) [This is much more of a personal civ than a justifiable one :P]
  • Muisca (Nemequene)
  • Netherlands (Willem van Oranje)
  • Norway (Olaf II)
  • Pakistan (Jinnah)
  • Siam (Taksin)
  • Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh)
