First off I dont want to be forced to make evil choices when dealing with natives while colonizing planets, but the game always gives you the best bonuses for the evil choices
Second why do systems only have 5 planets maximum.this should be upped to around 10 maximum , not for every system of course but for about 5% I would be satisfied with that
Third even planets with a rating of 0 should be usefull to someone who is nearing the end of the tech tree, What advanced terraforming wouldnt work on those? or I couldn't build some domed structure to use some of a class 0 planet.
I dont know XML and I dont even know If this is possible , but anyone who could do any or all of these things would be a god in my opinion:

I don't know for sure but I assume the 5 planet max. is hardcoded, so I would suggest putting a poll up on the official forum (they really do watch those).
The 0 planet thing is getting tweaked in the expansion, so you probably have to wait, unless we have some ambitious modders. And the choices thing can be tweaked I believe.

Even on the gigantic maps i like playing on, if you look at the graphix of each solar system, having five planets around a star seems a sensible physical clustering maximum to enable manoevreing around by spaceships.

Also because you only usually end up with three of the five planets with useable Quality ratings, what would be the point in having an extra 5 useless chunks of debris to manouevre around.

You can customize every planet's quality rating with www.gc2builder.com 's map building application to make everry planet useful instead.

Nobody's forcing you to do anything. :) The idea that you "must have" the best bonus is an artifice that exists only in your own head.

I hate to tell you this, bro, but you're evil. :D

(The bonuses you get for being a good civ, when you've researched Ethics and built the Temple of Good, may far outweigh the short-term benefits of making the evil choices--I haven't played that angle yet.)
