For some reason for the last few days none of the code I change, mostly if not all XML doesn't take affect. I reopen the file and it looks fine, but when I go to play nothing. I am trying to create a super enemy who has all of the UUs and UBs. I started out doing half and that wasn't enough, so I decided to add them all. But now nothing changes. Sometimes it event reverts. I have saved other text files elsewhere to prevent reentering the data. I feel like a moron because nothing is working. Not going from the program files directory or from my docs. I am on vista and I know it blows for this stuff, but I tried it on my XP and same thing. Shoudl I reinstall my CIv? Please help.

User Account Control (UAC) on Vista can keep you from being able to edit files. It seriously sucks (mostly because it doesnt give any error and simply doesnt make the changes it just told you it saved) and should be disabled.

I think if you make a copy of the file and put it on your desktop and then make changes on that file they'll take. Then copy that altered file back into your mod. That did the trick for me.

Thanks guys. I ran into that and started doing it on my desktop but still wasn't working. I copied the Next War scenario and edited that and it worked, so maybe it is something I am doing otherwise. Do I need that ini? I think it made that the first time you ran it.

Is there a way to turn that crappy UAC off?

can you post the file(s)? That could help. No you do not need to make an ini, as it should be made automatically (unless I'm thinking of something else), and if someone could answer his last question, thank you.

Do a search for Vista and turning UAC off. I did that six months ago or so, but can't recall what I did.
