Hi!

I just wanted to know what sort of modes there would be in Civ 5.
For example, I'd like to see a sandbox mode or easy scenarios so that you are not overwhelmed by the "Cheating AI" in your first few games.

Are there going to be co-op and capture the flag and other modes (like in multiplayer games)?

I will probably need a new computer to play CIV 5. What are the stats needed to play CIV 5?

I most looking forward to see the new graphics in action.

Thanks

Jordan

Indeed, we cannot answer this right now. It would indeed be funny to play a civ version of capture the flag. :)

I think it would be conquest - Capture the Capital

As for getting a difficulty without cheating AI, I'm sure you'll get it. After all, Noble in Civ4 was one such. In those below, the "cheater" was the human player, even. So if you want an easy time, the equivalent of those in Civ5 would be the difficulty of choice.

Actually speaking of the new conquest rule, what happeneds if your enemy has 2 cities and you take the capital? Does the other city (and units) go to you or does it become barbarian. Im sure im not the first to wonder this.

Umm... then play on a low difficulty level.
In the lower difficultly levels you get advantages relative to the AI. On an intermediate level, you and the AI are on equal footing. On higher difficulties the AI getse bonuses.

And Civ is a sandbox mode almost by definition.

Neither, it stays as part of that civ, who can attempt to recover their capital.

I don't know where people got the idea that a civ is destroyed when you capture its capital.

It isn't.

There is a conquest victory condition that says you win if you control all the (original) capitals of the other players. But until you capture *all* the capitals, its just the same as in Civ4, where capturing their capital just gets you a nice city.

We can't know for sure, but the obvious thing is you know got that one city. And of course that you now are one closer to winning by conquest.

If capitals have an important meaning for civs other than for the conquest victory, it could be that one of the enemy's other cities are set to function as the capital while you don't control your real one.

Anyway, there's no reason to believe that a civ is exterminated if it loses it's capital.

Alright makes sense now, thanks you two.
