Mods or no mods?

How do I get the sub mod. that makes no sence .. how could a civ know if a sub where in its territory. So gay. Is there a diplo hit if your sub is spotted thats the only way I would run that mod. I mean if it wasnt one sided like most diplo is.

Same here. My current list:

InfoAddict (the single CiV mod I could not play without, period)
City Limits (shows the 3-ring workable area boundary around settlers and cities)
Experience from barb kills raised to level 4
No conquered allies (resets CS influence to 0 for civs that are wiped out)
Goody Huts no maps (removes barb maps and local vicinity maps from hut rewards list)
Reseed! and Rotate map start position (allows you to scope out your world and gives option to start in any of the civ starting locations. allows you to find a decent starting location without having to restart 15 games to do so)
Promotions- no InstaHeal (removed that completely disgusting AI cheat from the game)
Removing jungle gives city production (forests do and jungles don't?? i_don't_thiiiink_sooo)
Reveal Iron early (see it after researching mining, as it should be)
CS View City (shows you on the main CS interface who is actually protecting each CS)
Religion Spread (adds a map to the religion interface showing areas controlled by each religion)
Summary Luxuries (adds a very handy pop-down list to the top toolbar, with all the lux info you need right there)
Summary Specialists (actually a summary of which great people are queued up and how long till each will pop next, similar in form to the Luxuries list, on top toolbar).
Trade Opportunities (adds another screen to the diplomacy screens, shows quickly and easily who needs the luxes you have to sell or the ones you need to buy, if they have the money to afford them, other good stuff)
And a few other misc. ones that I use occasionally but not all the time, depending on mood.

Many of those are the work of Whoward69 (William Howard). His stuff is no longer available on Steam Workshop, but can be found in the modding section of this forum.

I had to come back and revisit this thread and mention I wanted to get the CS View City MOD and saw your post after wondering why I couldn't find this on Steam. I tracked down his MODS which he placed on the CFC Download link. You can now go to http://www.picknmixmods.com/main/home/home.html and find his MODs there. I would recommend the following:

Global - Commander Influence Borders - I am a visual person
Global - Enable Magellan - I just missed this feature
Global - Fortify Almost Healed - Your unit will wake up at 87 or more HP instead of staying asleep when it is 95/100. A little tweak I always thought about and was glad to see this MOD.
Promotions - No Insta Heal - They reduced it to 50HP but I like the option of deciding if I want to play with this On or Off.
UI-Map Pins - You can place pins on the map. But the real reason I got this was for
UI - Auto Map Pins - Must activate Map Pins to use this one. As your playing it automatically places pins in the map for Mountains, Natural Wonders, Unimproved Resources. etc. I thought this was very cool.
UI - City Happiness - Adds another info screen that is awesome.
UI - City Production - Adds another info screen. I like this because it looks like the Economic screen where you can see all of your cities but you can change the city focus to production or whatever from the screen without having to drill in to each individual city.
UI - CS View City Screen - Highly Recommend. Adds a lot more info so you can see who is under the protection of which AI etc.
UI - Destination - Now when a unit is highlighted in the middle of a move you can see where it was going. I cant count how many times I couldn't remember where exactly I had one of my units going.
UI - Promotion Tree - You can see the promotions in a tree format for your units.
UI - Religion Spread - Haven't used this yet but it says it shows a Map of the religions and how they are spread and population numbers for each religion from the religion screen.
UI - Trade Opportunities - When that trade comes up for review it is nice to be able to go to a screen and see all of the leaders and who has what available for trade. You may want to not renew a trade with Queen Lizzy and say trade Napolean for silk and get a growth boost for your capital.
UI - Unit List Enhancements - Shows Experience level and HP on the Unit List screen. I like this one because I can find my High Experience troops if I lost track of them easier.
UI - Upgrade Tree - This one just shows the upgrade path of all units.
Units - Sub Ignores Borders - I normally don't do gameplay changes but this one makes it so Subs can enter territory and when you declare war it won't place them outside of the borders either. I just like this.

A lot of these UI Mods just add a lot more screens and information so if you are one of those people that used to play Madden when it was good and enjoyed the offseason mode just as much if not more than actually playing the game, some of these might be for you. I like sifting through and having access to a lot of infomrmation. There are many more MODS on there than I listed above but these are the ones I started messing around with.
