Have a look in the mod subforum.
Thal's mod is one of the most populair I think

About installing I can't help you, I always use the mod browser.

Thal Mod is the best. Try it & you won't be disappointed. The other mod I would suggest you is City State Diplomacy Mod.

I can't find the Thal Mod. there is two threads with a Thal Patch, but no mod. can anyone please post the link to the right Thal Mod?

Just do a search in the mod browser* for 'thal' and then you'll find "the unoffical patch and Thal's balance mod combined", that's the one you want
Well, that's the one I use anyway, not 100% sure if that's the latest one.

* In the main menu choose mods->(click accept)->browse mods->online and search

You're looking at the wrong section, he has his own subforum for his mod .

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure either now you mention it.

I see that Thal's mod require that unofficial patch. too risky I think. don't want to install a unofficial patch that changes thing to the original game. but thanks a lot anyway

It is not risky. Unofficial patch is itself a mod so there is nothing to fear about.
