Module: Arcane Academies

We have plans for the Arcane trait, so having that might make it OP. ;)

Hah, fair enough. In that case, I'll probably just replace Arcane with it at the moment, and shuffle it off to a unique trait when Arcane gets revamped.

Assuming, of course, I have the permission of the author. Pleeeeeease? :D

You could link each academy to the civilisation aspect the civilisation is meant to represent (See Loocas lore compendium) making each a mini-wonder that plays to that civilisation's concept.

Some could get completely new academies which taught combat promotions rather than spells) Some could have contested academies e.g. Hippus and Austrin both want Wind Mana Academy.

Hm, something that seems to be a bit odd - when I was training some wizards with academies earlier on, they could train at several academies at the same time. Even different sphere levels. Im trying to do this with Govannon now, too, however, the moment I click the train promotion, all the others dissapear.

So my guess would be that hero units cant do several, where normal units can? Will do more testing along the lines of this game and will get back to tell you if this is right.

May be a bug, don't know which way round it is meant to be.

If you train you can only perform one at a time.
If you cast a spell first (i only tried summons, e.g. floating eye) you can then many at once (great help if you have blood, death, mind, force, wind, enchantment in the same city....)

As a note the Larurn (+1 food sea square) with the right leader (+1 comerse on wate) love water accademy (+1 production), worth getting kote, and elemanatalism just for this. All those one tile islands make wonderful cities.
And for a fun city make one almost completely sea city with city of slums, octupus tower (no unhappy), life academy (no unhealthy), heron throne and water tower (+2 production per square). Mine got to about level 70 (with kelp/resources etc) before it stopped growing.

25Hour, feel free to use the academies in your mod if you like (glad you like it that much! :D)

At the moment I'm ridiculously busy with real life, but that should subside in about a fortnight or so, then I'll be actively working on this again.

To those who've found a way to train multiple spheres at once, that isn't intended, so thanks for catching it.

Anyway, see you in a couple of weeks!

Would this work for Orbis or WildMana?

Offhand I'm not entirely sure, its been a while since I've done much work on it. If I recall correctly, the xml files reference some tags that were defined specifically in RifE, so my gut feeling would be probably not.

If it's completely modular, than it's possible it could work in Wild Mana. Depends on if any tags added by RifE or FF were used or not.

It will not work in Orbis, as Orbis does not use the WoC modular loading system.
