MoM in Olympus - Do you want this?

Building a nice little Mausoleum in Olympus would be nice, but entirely foolish. At this early stage of the game, we must be focusing on more important, and cheaper, improvements. We need libraries, workers (we only have two as our fifth city nears founding), and swords for our nation. It is folly to think that we need the relatively useless MoM in our capitol, and that we can actually build it on time competing with stronger AIs at this point.

Oct, if the city starts rioting, the absence of the MoM will make things harder. Olympus will grow very much in the future, and we will have to deal with the unhapiness. I think the MoM will avoid the increase of luxury slider to a high level, thus allowing us a larger income and more scientific research. That's why we need it.

Library for later Provo? You contradict yourself all the time. Earlier you said we should rush for Republic and build libraries. Before that, you said we shouldn't build libraries and go at 0%.

This MoM costs 200 shields. Yet we can't afford a 40 shield Library that provides 1 MORE culture point and increases the science of our city?? Let the luxury slider affect ALL OUR CITIES, rather than this one wonder that affects only one city.

We don't have unlimited production, unlike what you seem to think.
Certanly I agree with you on thoes points (Except for the contradicting part, I hate to judge people like that ;) ). Which has more bang for the buck? Certanly a regular library can fit the bill since it provides both science and culture bonus while MoM is just one big expensive temple.

Behold, I give you two new polls!

Wonder Poll: Mausoleum of Mausollos in Olympus

Which Government Should We Aim For?

As for the science rate, general consensus seems to go for 100% research for Code of Laws so that is what I plan to instruct the DP. Keep in mind that the first two turns of the next session may be at 0% science (although if Code of Laws wins, we can start right away at 100%). I'd actually like the two-turn head start.
