Monarch

Alright, started my first Monarch game in conquests, and I am playing on this world map because i know it, and i think its good for starting out with. The problem is, the AI researches techs too fast too keep up with. On regent i was able to dominate in science, military, commerce, food and wonders. On monarch, none of my strategies work, its a totally different game, after the ancient age, i built the great library thank god that saved my ass, i started to get back into things and be able to keep up, even researching a few techs the computer was willing to give me everything they had for. But, when the industrial age came, once again i found it difficult to keep up, and they wouldnt give me a damn thing for my techs. So i suppose my major two problems with monarch are, science and military. So if anyone can offer me any insight to this, i would be very much obliged.

some tips:

1.Road all tiles
2.Irrigate everything except BG, Hills, and Mountains
3.Decrease science to zero and change one citizen to scientist
4.Get one tech from one Ai and then sell it to another AI that doesn't have the tech for a different tech. Be a tech broker.

These should help keep you up in science.

I also play in this level, you can win if you use MicroManagement every turn like me. I lost almost game even in lower level before I studied MM. now I think that I can win even in Emperor.
