I am playing inca in deity mode.
my game is very aggressive (declare war very very soon and battle someone till winning), i play with max enemies (18 civs in normal map) and win at about 1300AD (domination).

most of the game i am having serious money problems - up to the point of neggative income (100% money, all cities concentrate on money and still negative income).

it reached the point that i sometimes donate my workers to my enemies or make peace for a few dozen turns.

i research pottery very early and almost always build hamlets instead of farms.

only when i reach code of laws and currency my economy rises above 20% science.

any suggestions????

BTW i play inca since their enhanced warrior allows me to declare war on the first enemy i meet.

Stop spamming so many Settlers initially.

Oh and to be more helpful, try for a religion and shrine. Beeline for CoW, do not go more than 4-5 cities until you have CoW.

What he said. :D

definately what he said.;)

I believe that captured cities also count towards your maintenance.

Try razing some of them, its much more fun!

Without doubt! I raze all cities that doesn't have something special about them like wonders or religion founding. After the war I run around and settle new cities in the areas where I razed them. Have to be quick tough, cause the other neutral civs are speeding for the same tiles... :p

1. are you sure that captured cities take more maintenance???
2. i am not swarming with settlers, usually i don't even build a single one, i capture all i need.

Maybe he made a very weird typo and meant CoL (Code of Laws)
