More Civs in Civ4!

Let me qualify my comments on Western Europe: It seems like if it's alright to lump all of Eastern Europe together as 'Russia', it should be alright to lump all of Western Europe together as 'the Franks.'

yeah right . and lump all of Asia in as Asia, Africa as Africa etc. We could call the game continentization then!

Mind you this is what Hitler planned in WW2, USA owns all of the American (south and north), Great Britain owned Africa and Germany all of Europe and Asia. It was one of the reasons he hesitated to invade GB and lost the advantage. maybe a possible (alternative) WW2 scenario?!?

Well, ledfan, it's a legitimate concern. Some people really are pushing hard for mostly European Civilizations, since they either desperately want their country represented, or they just can't see passed the Western World.

Africa: Zulu
Near East: Persia
South America: Aztec
North America: Iroquois, America
Asia: China, Japan, India
Europe: 11 Civilizations!

Personally, I'd rather see that spread out a bit. At least 2 or 3 in Africa and South America, and definitely 3 or 4 in the Near East. But hey, they need to sell games, and I imagine that Europe is their second biggest market to the USA.

'Franks' to generalize Western Europe is to heavy, but join them as Latins Germanics, and Slavics could result.

Really. There are people who don't buy the game only because their country isn't in the game? A game is to have fun not a struglle to put any country on the map. The case most refered is Korean, but how many people who intended buy game don't buy it at all because things like that. The thing is I doubtly Korea is in realese, maybe in an expansion. The some to several Western Europe Countries.

The reason to put some civs and not others is a mater of choice, if there are market studies, regards the way is done, since a poll with tens of votes is only that, a small thing compared with the whole market.
Only 19 civs at begin, but certainly more when an expansion come out.

Actually...I could somehow see that. You don't chose a nation at the start of the game, you chose a culture. Then each of these culture has a number of alternate nations and leadernames, so that you can wind up with two separate players with the same cultures (but separate nations).
