More Pantheons

I've also been thinking about reeling these beliefs in a bit more and reducing their strength, since pantheon beliefs are much easier to obtain than the later religious ones: founder, follower, enhancer, and reformation beliefs; and the pantheons come much earlier too.

Perhaps by dropping the resource bonuses down to a single yield, and keeping the other pantheon beliefs truer to the default game.

I'm kicking this around too.

I Pantheons are fine at the strength level you put them at, since maximizing their benefit requires securing an area rich in the relevant resources other than the start.

I like the game-play incentive added to secure the right tiles, and a Pantheon belief can be lost if another Civ is religiously dominant.

Anyway, thats just my two cents.

So, here's a new version I think I'm pretty set on. I toned things down a little bit, since balancing things around a standard of 2 yields per regional luxury was getting a bit out of hand. Pantheons come so early and easily, that I believe their bonuses should be a little more subtle. Things aren't perfectly balanced, but I believe it's close enough for Civ.

And with my additional luxuries (I think this one actually works out a little better than above too, since nearly all resource beliefs have three types):

Also, if I replace my Ebony luxury:

Or with Beer:

It seems bland and underewarding compared to your older ideas, but its your call on balance.

Would you consider making two versions, one based on one yeild and one on two?

Yeah, I could create two versions.

Perhaps I can call the new one "More Bland Pantheons", haha. :)

There's another thing which I initially didn't consider which may also justify reducing the pantheons which give bonuses to resources. (I didn't realize until I was messing with another future mod on a spreadsheet which will tweak some of the religious beliefs: follower, founder, etc.)

With the resource bonuses, you don't really need to worry about giving a bonus to your opponents, since most of the time you'll own a majority, if not all, of the regional luxury types -- especially if you're pursuing or obtained its belief. So, that's a perk worth considering, versus other ones which grant a bonus to each city or to each building, for example. They may have a higher potential if you really go wide, but you're giving the same bonus to your opponents if you spread it to reap the bonuses of your founder belief.

With the latest patch, and the inclusion of the cool new pantheon beliefs, the original goal of this mod has already been fulfilled -- for all resources to gain some form of a belief bonus. Hence, I personally feel there's really no need to continue development on this version.

Though, if you're also interested in having more luxuries in your games, then there's this one that I still actively support:
