In the game manual, it states that each civ can only build 1 type of Capital (eg. Economic, Technology or Manufacturing) or a Super Project each.
However, being a warmonger i notice that i can acquire more than 1 Capitals of any type if the building remains in the colony i have conquered.
In addition, the project queue left behind by the previous civ remains after a colony is newly conquered. I tend to leave these Super Projects intact because i know if i remove these projects from the queue, i would not be able to restore them back into the queue.
(NOTE: Being a Sid Meier's Civ's fan, i was expecting these Super Projects to be removed from a conquered planet if the victorious civ already has an existing one just to be consistent with it's own gaming rule. Alternatively, the game should allow a civ to build several same types of Super Project in different colonies.

Working as intended. If you capture an AI Tech capital you now have two Tech "capitals", and dittos for all the rest of the super projects.

LoL :) I have been collecting super projects as well. I even have 4 political capitals, Winteria (my homeworld), Korx, Iconia, and Dark Yor - a tad weird somehow but at least that gives a certain incentive to go out to (literaly) conquer new worlds :D

It sort of makes sense. Your empire now has more than one race and the subjugated and allied races may tend to congergate on these other worlds for political, business or learning. I am now surely going to pay more attention to the pop ups about who built what where.
