More than one Iron Works?

Iron Works is a small wonder, and all wonders can only be built once by the same civ, so no I don't think so.:(

I have had the incredible good fortune to simultaneously have 3 cities under my control which had both coal and iron within their radius! Ah, infinite power through unbelievable production, 3 cities producing stealth bombers in 2 turns . . . . Unfortunately, only one Iron Works may be built.

I would presume, however, that should the first Iron Works be destroyed, that you could then rebuild it in a qualifying city (as is true of forbidden palace and other small wonders).

what if you capture an enemy city with the iron works in it?
in practice, i have never seen or even suspected the AI of builind it, but you never know

Same with if you capture an enemy's Forbidden Palace or any other small wonder. They're destroyed.

Can you actually sell off small wonders like improvements?

(sorry i've had the game for 6 months, but i still have't been in the situation to sell SW.)

No. You can't sell off small wonders.

But you could have your city captured or razed by the AI (both of which destroy your SW). With 1.21 (and by jumping through hoops on early versions) you can disband a city and effectively destroy a SW.

Just go into the mod and click iron works as an improvement. But then you can build tons of them....

With 4 pollution skull per iron working, into industrial age ouch pollution problem await you:scan:

And pray that you *Will* get a coal-iron city somewhere. I've played in 15 games or so that reached the discovery of steam power so far, and in not one did I have a city with both coal and iron around (nor did I get one between there and victory). Yet in most cases I controled 20-25% or more of the map at that point.
