Morocco SG

A prophet would have been useful to bring to constantinopole. if i am not mistaken theo has defensive beliefs and it would be very useful to deny them while having 20% on the units. i think missionaries are not worth theur cost anymore.

also if we ever have severe happiness issues, we can get rid of some puppets including muang saluang. It would be worse to lose frigates due to combat penalties, for example.

Well done guys, we have so many allies now. I spent most of our gold on gifts to fading allies, to retain their bonuses & make coups harder for Greece. Since we are 2nd in Literacy to Theo who is dead meat and the rest of the AIs are tied up in war, I did not prioritize Public Schools. And because we have uncertain happiness, I took Aesthetics building% over Rationalism. But maybe I should have taken the 4th Patronage policy instead, which would have given us 12 happiness. We did end this round in the negative again.

183: Bribed Ethiopia to backstab Denmark and break their RA, then DOWed him. We got 3 spare luxes back from this which I traded with gpt to Greece to war all civs he could, then DOWed him too.
189: Peace with Greece for 41gpt. Peace with Ethiopia for his unseen city of Harar. I was planning to just take the city for vision then sell it back to him, but it had Leaning Tower and a stocked Globe Theater, so I puppeted instead. This put us back in unhappiness at -7, but we can soon adopt Ideology to fix it. Moved the works of writing into functinoal cities until resistance in Harar is over. Or maybe @Tiberiu will choose to sell the city, but I think the LT bonus is worth keeping.
190: Electricity & Oxford finished, ready to take Radio. Sukothai finishes Ironworks. I think Sukhothai should now build Eiffel while Marrakech builds Broadway, which we will be able to theme.

Notes
:c5goldenage:Arts Funding and Celt Embargo both failed in the WC. We didn’t get to pick a resolution; the AIs picked Cultural Sites and Scholars.
:c5goldenage:Found the remaining NWs this round
:c5goldenage:War against Theo is going steadily. We should be able to take Constantinople soon with help from the Camel Archers. Two more Frigates got close to Logistics but are out of targets now.
:c5goldenage:Selling Salang could gain us some happiness if we then war Darius to get Whales back (and his gold), but we should coup/buy out Malacca first to keep our friendship bonus from them.
:c5goldenage:Our peace-gold from Denmark ends soon, so we could war him too for fresh tribute.

Hi. I played my session but can't write the report right now, will write later.

[edit]: Without enough logistics frigates I didn't want to risk losing some to Theodora and I just went for Denmark to get the XP while Theo gives us massive gold. DOWed Celts and Persia and got some gold out of them in the peace deals. Next in line should be Greece immediately to lower their chances of coups and to get some more tribute out of them.

I took Autocracy... :mischief:. Any Ideology would have been good at this point but 4 Militaristic CS means receiving 4 modern units each 9 turns which is a very easy way of having strong army and high Soldiers value to get cities for free out of everybody. I'd argue we could even use Futurism and Cult of Personality to some extent in the endgame. But by the looks of this this won't be hard to win Cultural victory at all since we'll get a lot of works of art by warmongering and we can eliminate the cultural leader.

I wanted to take Adrianopole in a peace deal from Byzantine for some Wonders but she didn't want to give the city and I took gold over the other big city which doesn't seem to have wonders.

- few notes is @so_what wants to continue before then

- next player can get engineer and bulb a wonder if he wants
- we must always be at war for United Front (with 4 Militaristic CS this seemed the best to me overall + the fact that we can conquer all important cities easily)
- Stay at war with Denmark to get Logistics on the 2 Frigates which don't have it, then capture their city and after that the army is ready to conquer Constantinopole. Theo gives 100+ gpt in the mean time, and we have Open Borders
- we have all CS except wittenberg which we can easily get right away if we want. get it before DOW Theodora because she has them

- a policy can be taken and it could be Industrial Espionage for quick speed of stealing the lower tech tree while we go and research Refrigeration. (Our spies are currently stealing 8/12/25 so they would become 4/6/12 which is not bad at all for the purpose of getting those lower techs for free. Otherwise anything is good at this point, maybe some more happiness policy from Patronage too.

- After capturing Aarhus from Denmark, they should give their Macchu Picchu city as tribute, this would be great for boosting our economy even higher.

Main Summary
T200 - Took courthouse policy (half cost and +3 happiness), this would allow us to annex the good cities and resolve happiness issues. Built public schools and worked scientist slots.
T201 - Theodora completed Redfort. Let's not waste time with frigates as they can be more useful elsewhere (Crippling Greece and Persia).
Used an Engineer for Effel Tower
- Captured and razed Aarhus. Unfortunately, Denmark is unwilling to give up his city/gold but he is really irrelevant now.
- Removed improvements and sold the buildings in Muang (it is now a useless city), gave to Ethiopia
- Annexed the Copenhagen and Harar
T207 - Researched Chemistry
T208 - Built 2 more frigates to form a second fleet. Steals Metallugy. DoW Ethiopia

War Notes
We should be able to unlock Artillery in 8-9 turns (bulb a scientist). For efficiency, I am dividing up our navy into 2 fleets and is moving them into position.

- Fleet 1
- Suggested Composition: 7 experienced frigates
- Suggested plan: either attack Greece or Persia to cripple them (note, remember to buy Greece's City states if you plan to attack him)

- Fleet 2
- Suggested composition: 2 newbie frigates with 1 more experienced frigate.
- Suggested plan: siege Muang, we should either take gold from Ethiopia or raze Muang if he is unwilling to give in. Note, Muang has very little buildings (sold), no improvements and is a useless city now.
- Later: Join force with the Artilleries (we have 3 cannons now and can build more cannons to upgrade) and Camel archers to take down Constantinople

Others
- World Congress - We can propose world fair to help to fill up more policies and save 1-2 writers to bulb the policies after winning world fair. Not sure if we are ready for international games yet (we would want to cripple or kill Byzantine / Greece / Persia before IG) but we should be ready after the next round.
- Science specialist - Lets continue to work on science specialist slots to hit a good timing on Artillery / Plastic / Hotels
- Archaeologists - Since we chose Autocracy / violent CV route, we can save hammers on archaeologists and rely mostly on taking great works from AIs.
- Musician - We need to think about timing the birth of Musician with the completion of International Games.

This round's highlights:
-Captured Constantinople (turn 219 - Theo couldn't take back on turn 220, so now it is just clean up and positioning artillery to take down the other two cities).
-Made war with Greece and peace with Denmark and Ethiopia (who then started a war with each other, lol)
-Gold from the Ethiopia peace deal helped buy and upgrade two cannons to artillery in Nicaea. Two more are en-route to destroy Byzantium fully
-Themed the Louvre (edit: Uffuzi) and a Museum
-Took the fine arts policy
-Proposed World's Fair
-Defeated Scholars in Residence
-Building Broadway in Marrakesh

Notes:
-Don't move the Great General near Sukhothai without support - there is still a barb camp there.
-I sent most of the fleet back to help with the capture of Constantinople, so now it's free to head west to bother Greece and Persia
-The two Great Admirals can be transferred to ports closer to Greece and Persia now.

Hello. Not much worth mentioning this round, everything continues to go smoothly. We built & themed Broadway, and I focused on raising our culture before World's Fair, by building Landmarks and Broadcast Towers. Marrakech will be able to build the Hermitage next.

War
222: Captured Antioch. It had Taj Mahal so I puppeted. I think we get a Golden Age once resistance ends.
226: Captured Adrianople. Between the 2 Byzantine cities we stole 9 Great Works.
227: DOW Persia

Notes
:c5food:We are slightly unhappy & the citizens are assigned accordingly
:c5food:We have a little bit of army everywhere, some naval spotters, etc, to catch AI Settlers, protect TRs, and give us freedom to DOW anyone (Celts soon?).

Hi guys. I expect this was my last session since we should win now either by Cultural which is inevitable with 1 musician coming up and at least 2 others which will soon be available via Faith from finishing Aesthetics, and with these 3 concerts Greece will be influenced. However by the looks of it if @so_what captures Ethiopia's capital in his session, @fiddlesticks or @Mizzenmast will surely finish the game by capturing the remaining 2 capitals (Celt's capital is easy with a few Artillery and Greece's capital is left but we have a very strong fleet so we can surely capture it).
All 3 capitals are in the screenshot below :)

My observations and conclusions about this game is that it was not hard as expected. The harsh environment, Ice age and Sparse settings didn't hinder us as much as they did to the AIs. But I think we can safely say we did a good job in this game. First in all Demographics in turn 210 in a Deity game like I saw in so what's screenshot isn't something to laugh at. Maybe the game would have been a bit more difficult if we were not able to found a religion like I was initially expecting but at the same time it is not our fault that we got 3 religious CS by pure luck in our area. So kudos to everybody for a good game.

230. Peace with Greece for 13 and Dyes, got their OB, pay them to DOW Persia. DOW Celts. DOW Denmark. 1000 to Vancouver + move spy there as Greece has some influence there.
I've bulbed the Scientists, hope you guys won't mind me doing this, I know waiting for Research Labs would have been much better value, but with Railroad + Plastics and our strong empire and fleet, the game will end soon anyway. This way we might receive Infantry from now on, and the extra production from Railroad connection is nice to have. After World Fair we can simply build the Hotels (Refrigeration will finish soon) and win the game, either by CV or Dom.
231. Policy - Florishing of the Arts.
232. Capture Ecbatana and puppet it, it's good enough, gives us unique Crabs too. Heading to Persia's capital.
237. Built Brandenburg Gate in Sukhothai to stack with Alhambra, not that it matters that much now. Captured Persepolis for Chichen Itza, Forbidden Palace and Pyramids. 3 works of art. Capture 1 more city and then peace for yet another one with 2 works of art. I puppet both, they are not great but they do have Harbors and Pagodas. We don't really need science anymore so Culture-wise they are a plus. DOW Ethiopia. Peace celts for a city, raze.
238. Policy Artistic Genius and bulb him with Chichen Itza and World Fair coming in a few turns.

3_capitals_left.jpg

a few notes:

- Greece has built a crap city on our island, it can be a good way to use Musicians on it if we want to win Culturally. In that case also send a Cargo for bonus modifier to them, and maintain peace by paying them to DOW other civs.
- Sukhothai is 5 turns away from finishing Cristo Redentor, I would let it finish it and not use it to build World Fair, we'll win WF easily. Same thing with Harar which is building Neutschwanstein in 9 turns (2 workers can cut some forests in 4 ring and maybe even in the 3rd to save 1-2 turns.
- I suggest to annex all puppets one at a time whenever 600 gold are available for Courthouse.

- @so_what please finish the Railroad to Fes from our capital and you can also delete the road to Rabat as I've built a Harbor there. Also pls finish the Railroad to Adrianopole. I've built some workers there to build Kasbahs and stuff in the Petra city.
I've used the citizen mostly for gold and production seeing how we'll soon reach Refrigeration and basically not really need science anymore.

222: Captured Antioch. It had Taj Mahal so I puppeted. I think we get a Golden Age once resistance ends.

I just wanted to say that Taj Mahal works like Oracle, i.e it does not apply retroactively. The golden age we have is from the Aesthetics tree artist.

Hey guys, I just got busy recently and probably may not have time to complete this. Anyway, I think we are pretty certain to achieve CV or DomV in a short time so what is remaining is just formality. @Tiberiu @Mizzenmast it has been a really fun game! @fiddlesticks Feel free to pick it up. I might have time towards the weekends but no promises.

I’ll be away until Tuesday. I’d say at this point if anyone wants to take a turn go right ahead.

I just noticed this, very nice insight about receiving better units from the CS. You also saw the considerable value of United Front/Autocracy here which the rest of us (certainly I) missed. I think we were well-balanced as a team, with @Tiberiu and @so_what having the most differing playstyles, @fiddlesticks and I more in the middle.

I wasn't expecting to take the reins again, but eventually I will, l to finish off the thread neatly & see what turn CV comes. But it's not of immediate interest... so I suspect @Tiberiu might feel like just going ahead and getting us the win, perhaps through Domination :p

Hi, since no one has posted an update yet, I did manage to find some time to play a quick game. Tech to flight first and used GE for Prora. The additional Prora policy allowed me to take futurism + cultural exchange, and also make Cult Personalty available which in my opinions is worth as much as quicker hotels with the additional happiness benefits (I hope it is okay with you guys). Used the hammers on World Fair, museums and archaeologists.

Key updates
Razed Ribe
Captured Addis Ababa
Won WF
Influential over Celts

Notes
Hotels to be unlocked in 2 turns, and lots of archaeologists and museums underway. We have a new policy coming up. Suggest to take Cult Personalty and attack the remaining AIs to steal great works and give Toursim bonus against on Greece. We can later unlock Exploration to build Lourve (additional Artist to trigger futurism). We have 1 self born musician (1100 Tourism) already and 5000 faith in ~8 turns to buy 3 musicians.

Alternatively, we can snipe Athens and Edinburgh. Electronics should be available in ~12 turns for Battleships or Great War Bombers + Carriers.

I think that either DomV or CV should be achievable in ~20 turns.
