Favourite place?!! Thats a question I did not think about for a long time....
Seyda NeeN? I feel as though it is a forgotten "unloading place". I usually do all the quests in day 1 and never come back there unless I have a new mod that takes place there..... it is always amuzing to come there to a trader and see those very same items I sold to him in the beginning of the game.....
Balmora: Of all the places I could call home this is the closest. When I first came to it I thought it was huge.... now with a lot of expansions where I do see how a "BIG CITY" should look like I still miss Balmora as a quiet small or medium sized town. My first homes were here first in some abandoned houses then in Hlaalu Manor.... as a Hlaalu noble. I always feel coming back to a civilized center after wastelands when I visit Balmora. Certainly a place more fit to be called home in all of Vvanderfel.
Ald Ruhn - could never get used to it. I like the internal architecture and the "crab". However there I always felt a part of a huge ant colony. Everyone is living in their own hole in a big building not minding who you are. For me walls are important in a city and Ald Ruhn looked very vulnerable and weak. However I loved the furniture and relative richness of quarters and inhabitants.
In Gnisis I always felt I am exiled there until I do enough quests to redeem myself. I always slept outside of town or used Baldurs tower for that. In both cases I felt uneasy. I was always happy when I could finally leave Gnisis and never came back there unless I really needed to.
Ebonheart - official business place. No place to chill, to hang out or to sleep. Always there on business or passing to some other forgotten corner of Vvanderfell.
Any Telvanni place - not my thing. Too much uncontrolled plants, constant need to change direction. I did not like levitating to my room every time (in my castle). In short - mages is my hobby, but not Telvannis style.....
Ashlands and Red Mountain - absolutely hate it. Bare, gray and red areas with lots of evil beasts, no green plants and often sandstorms. Green morrowind Mod however nearly made me love the place. Do get this mod
