I cant choose a fav technology. But i like Amphibios Warfare, Mobile Warfare, Guerilla Warfare, Labor Union and Machine Tools alot. I also really like combined arms./

Trade,Writing,Feudalism,Democracy...probably one of those.

i dont really like trade
But marco Polo's is good

why do you like writing???

philosophy - free tech
Industrilaization - changes building style
Explosives - allow egeniners (quicker develoment)
Refrigaration - Farms (More food=greater population= more money)

those are mine. Ok odd faves, but hey i like them.

i like philosiphy too. I also really like gunpowder and invention. Some that i forgot on my first message.

hey FONZ? do you want one of those pictures under your name like i have a hellicopter?

Here are some of my favorite advances, ones that I make a research goal (or, in the case of bronze working, ones that I research as soon as I can.)

bronze working
monarchy
chivalry
navigation
invention
gunpowder
philosiphy
conscription
advanced flight
labor union
combined arms

They appear in the order that they are commonly researched in the game. Who doesn't love philosiphy? I also like guerrila warfare, but it is not as good as the rest here. Those partisians are extremely useful, though, not for building, but for getting back cities when they are captured.

Trade for caravans
Writing for diplomats
Feudalism for pikes and War Academy
Democracy for power government or early Communism via SoL

I like writing and espionage. From there, properly exploited, I can pretty much do everything else.

trade for marco polo's caravans are bad

Because of its impact on the demographic potential for expansion, I've always tended to think of explosives (i.e., engineers) as the most important technology. After that, because of my emphasis on "power through trade," I tend consider trade/corporation/automobile the next most important techs.

trade for marco polo's caravans are bad

If this means what I think it means :D..you have much to learn grasshopper ;)

i like marco polo's
but caravans are bad

corporation i s bad
freights are bad
capitalization is really bad

i might not have a lot to learn

I have my ways
:D

do you know that when you deliver a caravan/freight you get a one time science bonus equal to the amount of gold?....bonus can be huge. You whiz thru the tech tree.Trade routes also help by adding trade arrows to a city.Very important.

not too mention they add 50 sheilds towards wonders.

i knew half of what you just said .... but i didn't know that it did ANYTHING to science. I dont really like trade. But i looooove science.. well thanx .. i dont remember seeing that in the civlopedia. but thanx ... i might build some now

What's so wrong with Capitalization? I use it when I've nothing to build to get rid of those damn pop-up messages "SOMEWHERE is building SUCHANDSUCH, but it has already been built". And don't say well build units, then, cos I didn't need or want any more, ore couldn't be bothered telling new units to fortify turn after turn. Damn high prod. rate, that's my trouble.

Oh, fave techs... er...
Nuclear Fission, Rocketry (put the 2 together & what have u got? )
Philosophy (I try to get this ASAP: free tech)
Explosives ( Replaces settlers)
Invention (Leos, obviously)
Space Flight (I know u r wondering why, so I'll tell u: Apollo Program! 100% map completion)
Mobile Warfare (who, if anyone, dosen't like this..?)

I am not bothered about:
Trade (I never build Caravans or Freights, MP'sE is good, though)
Guerrilla Warfare (Who builds Partisans?)
The Wheel (Chariot? Why bother?)

Hmm. I think I'll try that. Also, why are trade arrows so important? I just use them to get special citizens (usu. Entertainers).
