I saw a similar thread around here somewhere but I can't find it. Here's a few:

The ultimate "I win" combo:

Babylon
Pathfinder
Pyramid

Early snowball civ that is a tech monstrosity. Get growth from ruins. Growth from an early religion.

The ultimate warmonger:

Assyria
Horse Archer
Keshik

Spam HAs, take cities, get tech, upgrade HAs to Keshiks. Win the world.

The quirky but fun combo:

Persia
Minuteman
Feitoria]

Hit a minutemen timing and conquer the world with never ending golden ages of doom. Extra lux resources which are not trade dependent mean you always get happiness, possibly to get even more golden ages.

The moneybags combo:

Morocco
Paper Maker
Nau

Who needs other bonuses when you are constantly swimming in gold? Yeah.

The tile improvement beast:

Russia
Terrace Farms
Polders or kasban depending on start bias

+hammers from strat. resources. +everything from everything else.

The nutjob warmonger AI

Zulu
Jaguar
Mohawk Warrior

Not particularly oriented to long term goals. His mission in life is to kill you early, and often.

you could totally get lucky with the right Militaristic CS ... there's a way to check what kind of unit they would gift you. i forgot exactly how but you can check it in their interface screen.

Well, there is no civ in the game without an UU, so I will refrain from the obvious Pyramid+Stele, but..

Byzantium
Stele
Pictish Warrior

Haha, that was my thread :) But there I allowed to have any combination of three, even extremes like 3 UAs with no UU/UB/UI. If we stick with standard set-up I`ll probably go for this:

Art of War
Keshik
Khan

The Khan is cool and all, but Horse Archer is pretty tasty.

I'm thinking for warmonger purposes, it's probably :

Art of War
Horse Archer
Keshik

That is why I suggested rather than one civ for the whole game, to pick one leader every era, with only one unique attribute each. Not sure how to show the thread, but is is 3/24/14 under ideas and suggestions - Radical but cool leader/warmonger idea

One leader for each era was never going to happen once they decided on the animated leader screens. Too much work for too little benefit.

But I actually like the idea that there are civs that have benefits early in the game, say the Shosone, while other civs like Brazil have benefits later in the game. Gives variety in game play.

What's the issue? You change leaders, you get a new leader screen. It would be cool to be able to change your game based on your U each era.

The issue is that animation and voice acting is expensive, and there is only a limited budget for the game.

I'm not saying additional civs - just take the ones we already have, and you get one of their Us if you pick them.

I'm not much for the glitz and animation anyway - would prefer better gameplay and less bells and whistles.

General ownage:
Spain
Pathfinder
Merchant of Venice

Culture:
Poland
Moai statues
Chateau

Production:
Rome
Hanse
Longhouse

I would totally play this:
The Long Count (Maya)
Khan (Mongolia)
Merchant of Venice (Venice)

Serenissima.

Hanse.

MoV.

That'd be pretty cool - a very buffed Venice that really becomes a production beast thanks to Hanse.

Or maybe...

Babylon Ingenuity
Keshik
Pyramid

You'd get to your Keshik in no time thanks to the combined power of Pyramid and Babylon. Keshik is so powerful you'd stomp everyone without any major problems.
