MOST POSSIBLE PRODUCTION in one city

I first started trying to make a city that could build one nuke every turn, but its very hard, or I think its impossible.....
but Ive got very close-
It takes 160 shields (or production I should say) per turn, and the most I have managed to get is 142 - with one extra food per turn, only 18 off a nuke per turn - I could get one extra shield (that means about 3 more production) If there was a terrain that gives 3 food and 2 shields but I cant find one (this would eliminate my 1 extra food per turn)

If anyone has beat this then please reply, but make sure tat you have no hunger, no trade routes, and no wonders, orr ya can have wonders but you have to have full technology, which makes all the production wonders obsolete, but you are allowed all city improvements. Also I wanna add a pic of my city, how?????
try opening my extention.

sorry forgot the attachment ;)

If you put railroads on all those hill squares, you will get 18 more shields AND with a factory and any type power plant, that will double to 36 more shields!

A Pheasant square will give you 3 food and 2 shields.

An Oil square in a Desert hex, mined and railroaded will give you the most shields-9, but no food. The other high shield types won't beat coal, mined and with a railroad. Hills are the best source of shields after you mine them (mining is a plus 3) and put in a railroad (doubles the base #, rounded down).

Iron willl also give as many shields as coal, but will allways lack one food. This is considered a cheat, but you can build an airbase on all hills, giving youone more food. So 21 squares of mined and railroaded hills, 4 shields each, and food enough for all citizens. And maybe some specials. Gives you more than 200s in the city:)

Right Ive railroaded every where and got an amazing 187, with one food all I need Is a square that lets you get all shields and no food, like oil,
but I only have 4 special squares which are all coal so if I chaed them to a desert I wouldnt get Oil (Oasis). So I may need a new spot. But heye at least Ive reached a nuke per turn.

you cant irrigate or mine the city shield ad if you build a city over it, it just deletes it

You can make it happen. ;)

Here's what you do. Have a settler start the mine on the hill, then, before it is done, build the city on the same hill. When the first settler gets done with the mine, you will have a city on a mined hill. :)

Ive been working vry ad and got a new record of 232!!!!!!!!!!! I dont think there is better than that!!! the production is even off the screen. I used 4 oils and the rest mountains, but the ridiculous thing is that I STILL HAVE 15 EXTRA FOOD!!!!!!!!!!
So I need a non-special terrain that gives more than a mined hill, Is there one?

So, you have factory, powerplant, mfgplant and KRC? The first one is possible without cheating, but the last with KRC you can never get unless cheating:) It's a lot of shields though. How long time does it take to build a nuke, and how long time does it say it takes to build a nuke? When I had over 100s and wanted to build an aegis it still said it would take two turns:)

Yeah, I know of course i used cheats, on the last one, I wasnt trying to make you believe I hadn't

>How long time does it take to build a nuke, and how long time >does it say it takes to build a nuke

Err.... It can build a nuke in one turn, in fact if it was possible, it could build two nukes per turn. It can build every thing in 1 turn execpt wonders which it takes 3-5 turns.

even better

Seriously, this is some amazing production! :goodjob: I've never tried to construct a city this way since I figured that the lack of trade arrows would be more of a hindrance than a help. Imagine, though, building a wonder in two or three turns without using caravan/freight and/or buying it!

Of course, wouldn't pollution be a MAJOR problem until you built a solar plant? :mutant:

The point was that people were not helping out because they didn't know what 'rules' would be changed next (besides the fact that its been done before).

Yes, the amount of production is large. A great city? Not for me. I would much prefer a city with tons of trade. A freight delivered from a huge trade city can supply enough cash to buy whatever you want, generally in one turn.

It would only take a frieght delivery of 1,380 gold to offset the production of this city, even for a wonder. A delivery of only 690 gold if its building a city improvement.... At the stage of the game this city would be at (although impossible in a normal game since it is cheated) freight deliveries for full cities are normally around 800-2000 gold (without cheating). Freight deliveries can get to over 5,000 gold if done right. (Don't forget that you also get the same amount of science when delivering a cargo, so it's even better).

No pollution, no waiting a couple turns to get something built, plenty of happy people to boost your score..... What more could you want? :)

how much poloution were you making? I tryed the same thing on SMAC years ago and needless to say it didn't last long with the bulk matter transmitter 50+ mining satalites and the space elevator I was producing many times that but only for 1 turn the worms got me soon enough...

I think the normal max is 150. 14 hills, 7 grasslands, mined, irragated, and railed.

I remember seeing a post where a city was able to connect to 5 specials near the date line. So if you’re truly going for a max…
