Mouse movements are jerky

The game seems to run fine, but when I'm in the actual game, the mouse movements seem jerky and the cursor seems to jump all over the place. These are my specs:

Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.00GHz
Memory: 766MB RAM (technically 768 MB)
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X

Technically you are below spec, a 1.2 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon processor or equivalent is the minimum requirement. With a Celeron there is lots of work going on in main RAM to make up for the lack of a P4. Parts may end up being slow, and its possible that the mouse problem is a side effect of that.

My mouse is an optical mouse, and I read that a Celeron works just as well too. I might try installing a new video card tomorrow, do you think that might help?

It might - but do it for more reasons than the mouse ... buying a graphics card on spec because of the mouse is Civ dedication worthy of an award .... :)

Be aware you may still have issues because of the Celeron even with a new graphics card, but its certainly likely to help depending on your current PC's setup. If you post your Dxdiag, someone will pick that up and help re card upgrade suggestions

(Start button - click - select run - type Dxdiag - hit enter - wait a min - then select "save all information" - then post it using the 'advance' button below)

EDIT: just thought - if its a cordless optical mouse - batteries maybe going ...

Well I might be getting an ATI Radeon 9250 with 256 MB today, which should be a big improvement over my GeForce 4 MX 440 with 64 MB. As for having a Celeron, I've never really had any problems because it's a Celeron.
