MP Lag

Is there a way around lag in multiplayer? Not necessarily ping but lag between turns, or the game chugging/crashing when loading a previous game?

Also is there a way for those who have bought DLC nations to play with those who havn't?

Helps to turn off city states, barbs, ais.

Like SS has stated minimize the AI code, also playing on DX9 will help for weaker computers. Also play in maps that are a fit for the number of players, don't play on a huge map when a small will do, that just makes all the computers render alot more pixels and that slows things down.

yes eleminating citystates really helps. I got a bad ass computer but still my ping pikes during turn timer if I host a game with a lot of citystates.
