Mt Rushmore???

if there are three dozen texans (an obvious exxageration - three dozen - 36 people- lol - doubtful) that are not going to buy the game because mt rushmore comes with facism it is a good thing. I play alot of multiplayer
and it that means there will be 36 less uptight people with whom to contend.
`there are things worth fightin for i suspect- and writing for - but becoming bent out of shape because 5 game designers do something that u do not like
- man- glad the real soldiers are in the field and not crying about video games.
...I like the- My Forefathers fought for principles (including keeping slavery-
nice ) and this is the kicker....if things do not go my way i will steal. (pirate)
As an observer i can see the situation as - A few guys trying to make a game that many will enjoy- vs - someone that makes nothing for no one but himself and when things do not go as he wants he becomes a thief. It is a good thing ur forefathers handed down such good principles.

Either way, I have dumped my investment until I've been reassured that this has been edited out of the game. I'm sad to say we won't be having any network parties for Civ IV, most of us had grown out of it anyways.

and troy, in actuality, 36 is actually an underestimate. amateur.

I don't think the mafia would be a good idea. Why do i want a large crime network in my civ?
It has nothing to do with the average buyer. The average buyer is going to be getting this game at the convincing of their teenage child and I definitely don't want my younger friends growing up with the false impression that Mt. Rushmore is somehow a fascist development as opposed to a patriotic expression that helped boost morale during a time when there were world wars.

Hey, man, calm down. Noone is saying that Mt. Rushmore is a facist devolpment. This is probably a gameplay issue more than anything else. Perhaps the other techs like nationalism that this would fit in already have alot of things, and they want to make the "Facism" tech path more balanced against some of the others.

I live in Texas. I'm buying the game. It's just a game. America's strength and freedom can't be harmed by a silly little computer game, no matter how many people play it. America is not George Washington. America is not the flag. America is not Mt. Rushmore. Those are only symbols. You can't hurt America by impugning a symbol. I don't care if someone says something stupid about my country because I have full confidence that my fellow citizens are not so suggestible as to be affected by it. Sticks and stones and all that.
