MTW: Choose the Civ and...

Oh I know that, one minute they were all happy, the next minute I got stung by a 'return of the king' scenario, and they had hundreds of mounted noblemen...instant massacre for most of my poor guys... the rest of my free troops around there were busy with the Almohads, and moving to defend a very badly-judged Italian thrust against Constantinople...those Italians just cannot fight, I don't know why they bother!
Now I think of it, it could well have been that moving surplus troops out of provinces to fight the Almohads sparked it off.

Why are we now fighting the Almohads? They always seemed to be quite weak and it looked like they wouldn't cause much trouble...

That's because they launched a surprise attack...they started it. OK, I had a 900 men on their border, but they started it.

Okay then what happened? Did we fail back to Egypt or fight them off?

Oh, the Almohads are being hammered right now, I'd say 5 years max and they are history.

Cool except then we will have a border with the Spanish... Have you replaced the peasant armies?

Not really, I'm getting there though, I can't stand peasants!

I found the demo even before you put the link, and I've been playing it ever since! All it has is the training missions and one battle, and the battle is pretty hard, but I beat it after only three tries, which I thought was really good. I hope to get it soon and after I play through a campaign mode or two I'll be happy to join you guys. BTW, it runs great on my computer, flawless frame rate even though the enemies had over 1500 units.

Cool. Is that the battle where you are outside a castle in the desert?

Yeah. How'd ya know? The first time I played I thought how am I supposed to win this? I won by putting my spearmen in a box in a corner of the castle, and putting my archers and stuff inside. Then I killed his general, and most his endless horse/camel minions ran away, but half of them regrouped and came back over and over. Anyway I'm going on vacation tommorrow, so I won't get it until (hopefuly) sometime next week.

Because I played the demo ages and and ages ago... Although I never quite won that battle as the enemy regroups... I did win Agincourt though

Please post in this thread if you want to join either the MTW or VI succession games or both, so that player lists can be generated without cluttering up the succession game threads and allowing me to produce player lists easier.

my favoriite civ is the Italians, i really like the Italian infantry a lot.

Ok, I have VI so I'll join the game. On almost any given weekday I could probably finish a game in one sitting.

Remember you only play the reign of just one king! You don't finish the whole game. Once your King dies you have to save the game and let the next person take over.
