I'm sure that my answer has already been posted somewhere in this forum, but will someone please point me in the right direction??

My brother and I are trying to play each other online (Civ III Complete). I have follwed the advice of another user and did some type of port forwarding thing on my router, but we are still unable to connect.

Any detailed advice that you share will be greatly appreciated.

Thanx!

Are you playing in the same household? If so, you need to have an LAN game... from what you're describing it kind of sounds like you're in the same household. If not, then you or him needs to host a game and put a password so no one else joins and do it that way. If both of you can't host then it's a problem with your router. I have an option on mine called DMZ in which I can turn it on for a short period while I play Conquests and it works great! It opens up all the ports so I don't have any issues hosting or connecting to games. See this article for ports and how to allow DMZ.

Thanks for the reply...

No, we are in different states. I believe that it is a router problem because neither one of us are able to host a game.

It seems like I saw an option for DMZ when fooling around with my router settings. Will we both have to turn it on? Or will it work if only I enable mine?

I'll be sure to check out the article that you sent too.

Thanx again
