Multi-player issues

My friend and I try playing a saved game we have with a direct IP connection. However, we're playing on the same wireless network and there is an IP address conflict, since we have the same one. We try loading our game with our accounts in the Internet Game section, but for some reason, the game itself doesn't load. We've just been playing hot seat, but it's really annoying. Any suggestions?

Maybe if one of you sets your Civ ini's Netcomm port to a different one than default (default is 2056, I think... you can just to 2057), you'll be able to have one person host and the other join with no problem.

If the host is the one with the changed port, then the IP would just be:

yourdefaultIP:2057


This is a guess, but it's worth a shot.

If you guys have the same IP address, something seriously sucks with your network. It cannot work. Set up your network properly and then retry the direct IP play.
