Multi-session G&K game (GMT+12 @ 8PM)

I am confused by the Mayans. First they claim the end of the world is coming in 2012 and nothing the Aztecs can do will prevent it because it is too late and they should have attacked at artillery and factories! Now they wish for the Aztecs to spare their miserable empire. Perhaps something is being lost in translation.
 
The funny thing about all this is that, everyone seems so anti-culture, or anti-E right now. I know we all try to play fresh games...but I'm thinking E decided to try a peaceful game after dominating us all in the OCC, then going nuclear on Ethiopia, then the Celts, then me in the last game, before Pacal slipped away into space. (Okay, maybe Ethiopia was just conventionally bombed to hell.)

Anyway, it seems our memories are a bit longer than each single world. In fact, for me in this game, it's the first time I've had any chance to give E a little English payback from our first game with him, where he surprised us all with a very effective Ship of the Line attack and dominated us all. :D

The reason being everyone can read how progressive the culture goes, because it shows on multiple stats, victory progress and global diplomatic.

Other VCs, it's hard to see how many GSs one has stockpiled (unless AI burns them all), or how many mixed type of great people Sweden has stockpiled to one shot CSs when UN is rushed with a GE.

Also the payback thing may have been working, but everyone seems to be nice to me so far (perhaps all watching and waiting?)

What I meant was attacking early with artillary will be very easy, attacking now will be medium/hard to kill me as I have massed defensive units, but nothing a few :bump: can't solve if determined.
 
Mother Russia is in need of foreign investment and can be trusted to lend some outdated military to the highest bidder :D

We heard Russia had large deposit of cold war nuclear weapons. If the rumor is true, we can purchase the rights to launch some in a raining day.:lol:
 
So, when are we thinking of continuing this epic and nerve-racking (for some poor weak-bladdered south americans) story of our own little pseudo universe?

I mean, when are we playing next? :blush:
 
I was wondering if 5 turns back would take us back to before all the reloads. Anyone have a good idea?
 
Congratulations to Islandia who will get quicker science victory no matter what. The nukes are just nice addition to revenge for the insult dealt earlier :)

I'm still anticipating for the next game, given several weeks waiting.
 
Nice attempt, E. maybe more likely if you hadn't told anyone up front? I got a little SoL payback. I think that stands for S**t out of Luck, damn things are nearly impossible to fight!

For the next game I was thinking after daylight savings starts here, ends elsewhere. we change early, sept 30. That's one hour earlier for everyone else. Then when they up north change, another hour earlier for them. Not so good for late sleepers in Europe, but it does mean Tab will rejoin us.
 
When does everyone else's daylight savings change? Quebec, East Coast US (is that where you are, Jake?), Sweden, Finland...? I'm guessing it's a few weeks later, in October sometime.
 
We usually have room I think (could try that 8man if Onan is up for it; or teamer) but our current start time in Toronto is (i believe?) 4:00 - 4:30am Friday night. With daylight savings that'd be moved back an hour tho. I live just West of the EST/CST line so its an hour earlier for me than you.
If that works for you I'm sure we can fit you in when a new game starts.
 
I think I'll wait, have that break. It's fine if you guys want to run something in the 'gap' though. I don't need to be in charge all the time. :)
 
I think its october 28 in Sweden. Just make sure to warn me when you change times. The bed is so warm and cozy.
