Multiple dams per city?

first time I’ve seen this, but had the option to build a second dam in the same city before.

I’ve seen multiple neighborhoods before, but didn’t know you could do this with dams. (Obviously the multi river, multi floodplain criteria being quite rare).

Probably won’t see this again anytime soon.

I've seen it a few times with cities with multiple rivers. I'm pretty sure you can only build one hydroelectric dam though. Now sure why you'd want to build more than one though. I'm not sure building more than one dam is worth it. I just deal with the flooding.

Dams are one per floodplain-river, so a city can have more than one. I’ve had up to three dams within range of a city before. You can tell by hovering over the tile and seeing the river name attached to the floodplain tile.

but as Disgustipated mentioned, a city can only have one hydro plant, so it’s best to have a nearby city build dam #2.

You may want a lot of dams close together to, for example, get better adjacency for Industrial Zones.
