Well there is room for improvement as I only had 1 sea trade route bringing food to it. I could have had more. I just mostly wanted to see how good of a city I could get and wasn't really going for any victory :)
Portugal kept attacking me and forced me to miss great firewall ;_; and prevented me from planting more cities

Deity, standard speed, pangea.

I was around 200-300 gp/t til I tried to get everyone to vote for my world religion. Didn't happen.

What was your strategy for getting so many improvements and can you post the initial save?

There's no way to generate a lot of scientists or engineers early when you're Maya, since the free great people forces the counter to keep going up. Obviously the OP can answer better but it's hard to imagine those (likely faith-bought) Academies were planted before Scientific Theory or even Plastics. The Manufactories would also probably be mostly faith-bought, thus post-Industrial.

That's the base yield of coastal and ocean tiles before a lighthouse is built. There's little point in building a lighthouse in a city that has no sea resources.

Most of the academies were not from Faith (Maybe by the end 3-4 from faith). At least 3-4 before schools. The great engineers were mostly faith bought after going industrial. Generally, you get desert folklore and just use all your faith on great prophets. Don't bother spreading just lay down holy sites to generate more faith. Plop down all the Mayan great people. I think I went with a Manufactory first.

Generally Petra isn't too hard to get on deity. Just tech to it and build. Maybe skip writing. If the enemy is on desert and gunning for it you don't have a chance though.

For religion I went with:

I went with:
Tithe
Religious Community (+1% production per follower)
Swords into Plowshares (15% growth)
Religious texts (25% faster relgion spread (50% with printing press))
Then Reformation way later to buy great people with faith
Oh and wonder list:

Spoiler :
Temple of Artemis
Petra
Oracle
Sistine Chapel
Procelain Tower
Eiffel tower
Broadway
Christo Redentor
CN tower
Sydney Opera House
Pentagon
Big ben

Social policies:

I filled out tradition then just put some here and there. I took rationalism when I could for the specialist boost then went on later to get free thought. Theocracy policy in Piety is pretty good (+25% gold from temples, +3 gold per holy site). The point in honor was a mistake later on.

Holy sites become a pretty strong improvement beefed up.
+3 gold
+10 Faith
+5 culture
when maxed out.

Oh yes, I forgot Great Artist doesn't share the counter anymore, so Maya's only penalty on GS and GE generation is the merchant - essentially they can produce as many as any other civ with an early garden. Actually I just finished a Maya game and was dismayed to realize that with 3 artists types now I didn't even cycle the whole list by victory, so there was no reason to eat the Great Merchant at all.

It's deity and for the most part at 360+ turns an AI hasn't won yet? (or did you use the "one more turn" function)
I saw your list of wonders and I wonder how many AIs are on the map... (usually you are not able to grab this many, especially if you built ToA which delays your tech a lot, unless it's a duel or smaller map with less AI... of somehow you landed in a game with all warmongers who don't care about wonders)

You could do better if you get new deal and the landmarks proposal in the world congress you could make a lot more culture in each improved plot.

I love how your Petra forms a neat little river dam. ^^

Impressive, how did you manage to get Petra on Deity?

I managed Petra as Babylon by going to writing first, planting my GS then beeling to currency and chopping 4 forest. I think another AI has desert because I wasn't able to get Desert Folklore.

I still don't understand the decision to not build a light house. It adds one food to every sea tile, and 2 food means one additional citizen.

What would you delay building in order to slip in a lighthouse? There are opportunity costs associated with every choice. And an ocean tile that yields nothing but 2 food is one of the least attractive tiles to work. Much better to build a food cargo ship to run to the city and work specialist slots instead.

If you look at the screenshot, the Great Person tile improvements are all +2 culture (Historical Landmarks). New Deal is a bit less obvious, but manufactory tile yields are consistent with base yield + Chemistry + New Deal.

The AI wins at like turn 370 or something, there have been a lot of wars. I tried to reload to stop it and get a victory but gave up as I wasn't really going for any sort of victory in the first place (well I decided to try for culture just for fun at maybe turn 300 or something). In the SS I have 6 nukes on 2 missile cruises and at least 15 stealth bombers.

Light house would give a 2 food tile. I would never work that tile over specialists.

Obviously all the improvements for GP tiles are active.

Also, ToA doesn't really delay your tech. You need to go for it on the way to Petra either way. I built it just before Petra.
