My Civ iii wont work anymore

Can anybody help me

i downloaded some stuff too long ago and afterwards was unable to Play Civ III on my p.C. I click on the icon and nothing happens except I get an hour glass

......... and yes I have tried everything i understand on the forum like getting latest microsoft updates and going to MSCONFIG.

just wait thats all I can say sometimes when I click it doesent imdently work or try again but then again I dont know what your really talking about

Does the game say that there's an error?
