My Computer Struggles

My computer meets the recomended specs, yet it struggles through this game. It takes forever to load, the videos skip every few seconds, and waits between turns are too long. I think, however, that my computer is eating itself alive right now, because everyhting on it is working far slower than usual. It's due to viruses and spy ware and all that crap I think.

Is there anything I can do, short of wiping my hardrive, to fix this? I've tried virus scans and stuff, it doesn't work.

And if I do need to wipe my hardrive, which I am willing to do If I must, what is the best way to go about doing it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Just as a head's up, chances are you're not having the troubles due to a virus or spyware. What you've described sounds VERY similar to what I, and many on the board, are experiencing.

Yeah, there seem to be a lot of serious issues with some 5000-level Geforce cards (I have a 5500 myself).
