1. You're in despotism (still at 1792AD!! )
I didn't switch to Republic, because I wanted to see how it goes with despotism, however I am going to switch it to Democracy (it's not far)
You should switch governments as fast as you possible can! Despotism causes horrible amounts of corruption!
Plus you can't utilize a tiles' full potential. For example; an unimproved normal grassland produces 2 food. If you irrigate it, the food production doesn't increase in Despotism. In other governments though, the tile now produces 3 food.
2 - You have a despotic Golden Age (not good, because you don't get the full effects due to the despotism penalty).
what's that, I didn't know.
At one point during the game, your civilization enters a Golden Age. A Golden Age means that every tile that produces atleast 1 shield, will now produce 1 more - which in turn increases production a whole lot.
By being in Despotism during your Golden Age, you can't utilize the potential of your cities' tiles fully, in other words you lose a lot of shields compared to a different government type.
The Golden Age can begin in 2 ways:
a) Winning a battle with your civilizations Unique Unit (for example: Winning with the Immortal when you're the Persians).
b) Building wonders that fulfill your civ's traits.
3 - You're irragating grassland in despotism (this does nothing). You should mine grassland.
this is my mistake
For full utilization, mine grasslands - but later on in the game, when your cities can't grow anymore, go back and irrigate some of the grasslands to increase food production, so the city will grow further.
4 - I can tell you aren't trading. You don't even have a map of the world yet!
My civ is connect with 2 civ. only and I believe I can trade with them only. When I try Both Civ. had nothing to trade. What's the best way? what all can I trade?
I can't look at your savegame, so it's not easy to help you with this. However, if you have researched Map Making (which I assume you have, being in 1792AD) you can exchange world and territory maps with them. Also see if they've got anything to offer you under Communications, which is contact with other civs.
5 - You only need 1 defender per city, and 2 on the borders.
It was like that but because I am on war that' why I kept more on cities. Any good startegy in case of war to defend city?
Yes. Move your defensive units to the border cities! There's not much use in defending the cities in the core of your empire, cause your enemies wont reach them without using a lot of turns.
If you've got a government supporting unit police though, you should keep some (weak) units in your core cities to decrease unhappiness.
6 - I see 3 northern cities that avoided the coast. This is bad. #1, you lose the extra food in the coastal tile had you had a harbor. #2, you can't build ships! See the link in my sig. ).
My bad for loosing extra food. I didn't build harbor, I don't know why?
Not sure if I understand this, but you can only build Harbors in coastal cities (i.e. cities adjacent to the coast). A Harbor increases food production in water tiles by 1 food.
7 - Your cities are quite spread out. Build them tighter.
But in this case, working tiles will overlap? e.g. Tiles in Kolhapur & Calcutta is overlaping. Is it bad or good?
There's no problem with some overlapping. It's better with 30 cities who all overlap eachother by a few tiles, than having 15 cities which doesn't overlap.
Normally I build my cities with 3 tiles space between them.
You should check out the War Academy, and read about city placement strategies like OCP, RCP and ICS.
9 - You have *MORE* than enough defenders! (I hope you're not letting the governor select the build order). Build more cavs, or markets.
No I do. my mistake. Can I update Defender to cavs or attackers unit.
Unfortunately, no. Upgrade them anyway though (to better defensive units) if you can, and put them in the cities you capture
