Dear forum,

This is my honest review of civ 7 on the first day's. Keep in mind that english is noth my mother language and therefore grammar mistakes can happen!

The leader civ switching

The leader and civ mechanic. I love this so much you can pick a specific leader and then a civ each era its just so interesting and brings a lot of combo's
Switching civ's yes i like the mechanic a lot However i wouldn't allow the player to choose all civ's but only a certain. For example rome and greece should only be able to pick european civ's geographiclly.

However it doesn't feel like a civ game to me its feels like a improved humankind version. I like the idea but it should be a option that to keep playing as the civ you picked in the beginning..

victory condition and era's
I like the idea of splitting up the era's however i don't like the fact that each time you achieve a milestone for example you built 2 wonders you achieve a culture milestone then the era progress increases. The game should just stop as soon as one player achieve's a victory and complete all the milestone's of a victory for example if you have captures enough setlements that ends the era. This would fix a lot of issue's with pace in the game

The era's is a good idea but i feel they should split it up in more era's = classical era, medieval era, renaissance era, industrial era and modern era and give the player the option to pick a begin era and end era. This is something i wished was in civ games for a long time ERA STOP choose when the game ends so i can play a game pure in medieval era for example.

The UI is a gamebreaker
The UI this doesn't need any explanation its discussed a lot. Especially the city UI not knowing wich buildings are in wich distircts... And a lot of mechanics are not explained a lot you just have to figure it out...
Why can't i see wich buildings are built at each dictrict? My city is unhappy but it doesn't tell me where the hapiness comes from?
So many game options which i didn't know existed and just figured it out and then i noticed its not explained anywhere.

- Diplomacy and ai behavior
Oh boy this makes me mad... Its even worse then the diplomacy at civ 5 launch.
So when a Ai settles close to me i get a negative modifier why? I didn't do anything wrong. Why isn't there a option to tell the AI to not settle close and if he refuses you get war support!! Like in civ 5 you get grievences. If the Ai ignores you're request you get grievences this could be fixed here by giving you war support....

The Ai randomlly denoucne or declares war at you even if its far away from you. I've seen the Ai declare war on me and do NOTHING don't send any troops because he is at the end of the other map. They just declared war because they can. Even when i had a bigger military then him. Where are the negative and positive modifiers like in old civ games where the AI likes you dislikes you or is neutral.

Also why does the AI settles next to you. I can accept that this happens if he is close to you but some leaders are at the other side of the map and just send a settler all the way to you to settle a wierd city next to you..

It sometimes doesn't make any sence why the AI decides to denounce you

combat
Like the idea of army commanders its a lot of funy !! Combat in general feels good and balanced!

maps
last but not least. Whats the deal with the maps where is my pangea?
Also where is a terra map? If you have a option to explore distand land why not bring a terra map where all the civ's are at one continent and the other continent is empty... This would give you the idea of fighting over a continent and resources wich the game forces you to do !! .

This game could become great if they fixed the AI and UI like the game mechanics so far!
