my game doing good?

The first think I notest from the shot is that you are in Monarchy but have little military. You should use MP, not have many empty cities. And it doesn't look like you're at war, so you should be in Republic instead of Monarchy.

Edit after looking the save: You have 13 horsemen, access to horses and iron and some of cash. Upgrade them to Knights and invade England. It's military is average compared to you, and yours is not is not very strong now. After the upgrade, if will be at least twice as strong.

Or, if you want to be peaceful, revolt to Republic.

Monarch is very similar to regent except the opponents get soms small bonuses.

I have only looked at the screenshot. You seem to be doing ok.

Stop building useless defensive units, you only need a handful of these in an empire. Build infrastructure, offensive units or artillery units instead.

Republic is usually much better than monarchy if you know how to use it. If you want to stay in monarchy, warring extensively is a good idea. If you are not in any wars then a good time to start one is very soon as you get your musketeers shortly. Use stacks of longbowmen/Medieval infantry with artillery support and protect them with a musketeer. A few knight would be useful as well. Get an alliance if necessary.

I find huge maps to be the easiest to play if you are a good trader since the large amount of opponents make for more and better trading opporunities. I recommend getting mapstat to check for trades often since otherwise it can get really tedious.

Ya I hear alot Rep is better as monarchy but I always have trouble with it because it doesnt support units and I always have alot of them. I only just started to build some good millitary units and disbanding old ones I have focused mainly on expansion

I play vanilla version with latest patch

Marketplaces and libraries multiplying the Republic bonus is the key. Try building more infrastructure before focusing extensively on units. Build an early barracks in one or two cities and let those take care of all your unit needs (unlesss you plan on early conquest obviously).

If you get too many units then use them. You can war in Republic too as long as you minimize losses by using terrain and artillery units.

Building units then disbanding them when obsolete is a waste. Infrastructure is never obsolete or if you must build units then upgrade your units instead (upgrading is extra cheap in vanilla). Swordsmen are not upgradeable but you can still use those against pikemen.

Musketeers are one of those units that got a substantial bonus with Conquests. In general though 1 defensive unit per border city and 1 or 2 guarding your artillery is enough (no trebuchets in vanilla either but catapults can still be helpful). Offensive units are just as good at defending your territory and can counterattack as well.

yea thanks for the tips I always need quite alot of units. I always get in early wars somehow so I like to have quite a big army and a gov that have unit support + no war weariness.

Well I would surely not go in Monarchy unless I was going to play AW. You are allowed 88 units and have about 60, so get more.

Wonder cities are at size 9, get then up to size 12 (add in some workers).

Incense not hooked up, so you need to bump up lux slider to use those entertainers. I would get temples in some of those cities as it will be a long time before you can get more luxs.

I do not like making libs in size 1 or 2 towns, especialy when they are not growing. I would put a size 1 not growing on wealth (cats if war) and a size 2 on workers.

You have lots of unconnected cities, lots of unimproved tiles being worked, so more workers are needed.

One choice that you need to make is to go on with a GA or not. If not, I would hold off on Gunpowder and get ED. This will make it cheaper for others and in fact I would sell it to the owner of the GL and maybe others.

I want to stop them from getting any more free techs. If you go on to Guns, then you will be making your UU and soon trigger a GA. This does not have to be a problem, but you may wish to wait, your choice.

My next focus would be on getting another lux by war, so look for the nearest ones and see who is weaker.

I really would not have a wonder city that did not have a temple. It just makes it too hard to use all your pop, unless you have a bunch of lux. Even then, it will be a while before markets are available.

I do not put temples in size 12 cities, when I am going to be doing mostly war, but otherwise they will keep my cost for lux slider down. Plus the early temple in the capitol for the double culture is not a bad thing.
