to win the game,all my trick is a study result from the elite players such as Moonsinger,Tone,etc.

my only contribution is one: choose AI wisely.

in my tons of games, I found some AI "hate" "Write", mostly,they research Monarchy first, then construction, finally they come to Write.

this give me a good chance to research write,phil,code law,lit,even MM,
if map size is small ,even rep slingshot myself.

this AI are:
America, France, India, Greece, Egypt, etc

So,In this game, I choose island, 80% water, to delay AI meet each other.

I use byz, wish to have a AA SGL.(but never get one until IA).

the dromon is good to delay AI a bit more.(not diplomatic,so not hesitate to declare war)

heavily use mapfinder, I acumulate some good start map.
In each map, I start a warrior, queue a setter, a warrior, a setter,mini to write.(wait 50 turn)

if before my second setter finish, I see AI ,i will abandon map.

each map will cost my just several minutes.

after that, I am sure I am on an island myself.

AA:
In this game,after built 2 settler,capital work on Colossus,city2 and city3 build canoe each,then worker,settler.

after my Colossus finished, my canoe will meet some AI,if I meet AI which can exchange Pot with alphabet,
exchange,or buy pot with about 100g.
In this game,I meet all 6 AI,France and egpty on one island,america and india, greece isolate,ottoman isolate.
exchanged pot,save my 100g.

then all my 3 citys work with ganary,then worker ,settler, until phil researched.

then capital(or highest production city,in this game,is my capital) build Great Lib.

in this game I don't make rep slingshot, (large map with deity level, tech too expensive,I think.maybe I will next time)

after Great Lib built, start my ga,get all AA tech but MM,codelaw,currency and horseback-ride,rep.

then I built Great Lighthouse in capital,then MoM,then city advances.

I research the last 4 techs to enter MA.

I wait AI? thank to my ga, AI too backward now.wait AI to use Great Lib sufficiently?
some game I will ,but In this game I am not.
I get Feud free, and research Mono for 19 turns, because AI will come to rep too later, I will aim democracy.
Note:
why AI so backward?after install embassy,I found reason, america and india, France and egpty hotly battle!

after my ga,I revo to become Monarchy, then slow my settler pace, accumulate shields in captial and city5(highest production) (one for sunzi,one for palace) and later I built sunzi and sistine.

later on, AI almost come up with me, especially pyramid-hurryed ottoman.I use dromon block ottoman to new land.
bombard more than 20 galley into water total.

after my pop grow,my people need lux.I get a lux from india, a lux from france, and I gift greece MM,
later get a lux from him.

thank to inside-island battle,I keep ahead in middle age.built sunzi,sistine,knight templar, observatory, Newton,
navigation,smith,ottoman beat me on darwin by 1 turn!

4 SGL's in 7 techs You're right. If you had got this in the AA that would have been some game! Congrats on your #1 spot all the same.

ps please don't give me 'elite' status. I'm probably just like you. I hang on for dear life in the early phases, desperately trying to complete my core before the AI gets their boats to my shores. In fact I think that you were more in control in this game than I have been in my successful Sid attempts. IMO the best thing about trying Sid level is that it makes Deity seem so much easier Thanks for the praise though!

Thanks, I follow the suggestion, but still hardly survived in Sid.

AI seem to cheat, a 3 movement galley seem to move 4 tiles in one turn,
without Great Lighthouse, no seafare Civ, either.

send some land units on my non-defend land.
