Officer Reene,
First off, thanks for looking into my issues. I am running with 1.61. I do not load any other MODs when playing yours. When you ask "have you any other mod components/custom assets running with my mod", how do I tell if I am or not. All I know is that I select Advanced from the Main screen, Load A MOD, select your MPMilitaryMOD (V1.02), and then restart the game with your MOD loaded. After we're done selecting our Civs and options I then select LAUNCH. The screen then goes black with the Windows Error popup (send/don't send error report). Let me know if I can give you any more info. I do have other MODs on my machine like Sevomod and GIR's add-on, but I don't mix them with yours. Yours has a separate folder in my /Mods directory like the rest of them. Hmmmm.
I'm just concerned about your Custom Assets comments. Hmmmm again....
hhhmmm well if SEVO MOD and GIR add-on are in the mod directory and are not loaded ...well they shouldnt interfere with my mod...
(what is GIR add on? anyway... is it a separate mod from SEVO? what does it do?)
Custom Assets is a folder (check your main directory ...should be called _CIV4CustomAssets (Shortcut) where you place xml/python/etc files that you want to override your originals... (they work with mods unless your mod has the same file - then the mod file overrides the customassets folder)
If you (or your brother) has not put any xml/phthon/etc files in there then that should not be a problem either....
another idea is that you may want to clear your cache out.... and see if that works....
the cache folder is located in a DIFFERENT directory than your main CIV4 Directory (Dont ask me why CIV4 game does this - it makes no sense

)
the path to the cache is (usually):
C:\Documents and Settings\[
user/login name]\Application Data\My Games\Civ4\cache folder
NOTE: [
user/login name] is your Windows login name
erase the files in that cache and run CIV4 again... then try to load my mod...
FYI: you can create a shortcut that automatically loads the mod from the start....
just create another shortcut from your CIV4 shortcut
then edit that new shortcut by 2nd clicking(not the primary click) on it and scroll down to "properties"
Primary click on "properties"
then look for a line for that says "target"
add this like there:
"C:\Civilization4\Civilization4.exe -mod= MPMilitaryMod1.02"
(include quotes - I think you just have to add
-mod= MPMilitaryMod1.02" to that command line
and now you should be able to load up my mod (or if you follow the steps you can make a shortcut for each mod - just replace my mod with another mod name

) by clicking that shortcut
(you can create multiple shortcuts for each different mod if you want

)
or you can load up the mod by editing the CivilizationIV.ini (a shortcut to it call _CIV4Config should be in your main directory)
just open that file up and search for this line:
Code:
; Specify a Mod folder (Mods\Mesopotamia), '0' for none
Mod = Mods\MPMilitaryMod
and when you start up the game it automatically loads that mod all the time
another thought...
have you modified any of the data in the CivilizationIV.ini? unknown if that would interfere with my mod... but you never know...

let me know if you did...
anyway I think the cache might be your better bet......
hope that helps
