Cicerosaurus
Emperor
Fired up by the member who came up with the plan that could win at Civ (I Think I Broke Civ V), I thought I may try a different strategy.
My nefarious plan- should I stick to it- is to be a Barbarian killer.
To do this I have decided to follow the policy of Honor right through and disregard the rest. With my Capital - playing as Nebby- churn out a virtual production line of bowmen and composite archers.
I thought with the culture from killing barbs would help me get the policies quickly enough, and the gold from raiding camps and (eventually) killing barbarians would enable me to buy settlers.
To assist I am playing on a huge map and have raging barbarians. I also used the mod to gain not limit experience from fighting barbarians.
So far, the result has been mixed- playing at King level, Continents plus and limiting Civs to 9. I am on a medium sized continent with Parachuti with Washington on a small continent nearby. For some reason Parachuti hates me and keeps attacking, even though I have few cities.
My units are very experienced and handle his easily enough. However, if you get caught out and lose a highly experienced unit they are difficult to replace. I am finding destroying Parachuti's forces and the barbarians I can concentrate on keep me pretty well up with gold.
I get the feeling though that Civ unbothered by war will eventually triumph in a scientific victory.
Could be an all nighter.
