My probs with Civ iii

I just got civ iii and i have some probs with it.
First of all i hate how they got rid of the option to either randomize starting location or not to that they had in civ ii. They have a world map in civ iii but it sucks cause when Im China I want to start where China actually is not in some crappy random place (Alaska).

Also I think it is stupid that when im England I have to be some woman or queen. Im a man i dont want to be a woman leader same thing with Russia I want to be Stalin not some weak woman (no offence but civ 2 had a male and female leader it was better)

Another prob is the barbarians you should be able to take barbarians out completely. I hate having 20 barbarian horseman come out of nowhere and killing all my workers and settlers.

You should still be able to adjust science rates and tax rates from the menu like you could in civ ii. Also civ iii doesnt keep track of casualties.
Theres other things Ive disliked about civ iii so far but i wont mention them. I think civ iii is a great game but they shouldnt have taken out so much.

You can adjust the level of barbarian activity before you begin a new game. And for the woman vs. man leader image....recite the following mantra over and over until a state of calm returns: the AI cannot see you. It doesn't care what your gender is. If you like the English then play the English. Screw the picture, play the power, dude!

There is a way to change names and titles without going into the editor...when you are choosing your civ, theres a white box that says the civ specific abilities, click on that box...I havent actualy done it myself, so im not sure if its left or right click, maybe even double click...fool around with that box, you can change names and titles...no pic though...but you only see that pic in 1 screen anywoos...
