n00b question sorry

I remember reading a forum about proving to the makers that you've bought civIII, and you'll get a nocd version of the executable file? Is this right? Or did I hear something else.

My father has unfortunately started playing it, so now I have to fight him for the cd.

Any info?

Someone from Firaxis gave a link to Infogrames at Apolyton. But the two who tried it said it didn't work. Hope that helps.
