n00bie question

Okay, playing on a huge map with max civs. I just developed sea power so I could introduce myself to the other civs in the game. I have been going the Science and Research Civ route and keeping everyone on my continent at the same general level or power, and the same relative level of poverty. Now when I open the foreign advisor to make trades with the other civs, the only new one that popped up on that screen is Xerxes and I don't see the pictures for Elizabeth, Catherine, Joan, Shaka, etc. Is there a way to see the leaders of the rest of the civs?

I apologize for the n00b question, but this is my first venture into any of the civ games and am having no luck locating this in the manual.

On the foreign advisor screen, if you hold down the SHIFT key and right-click on a leader picture, it will display a list of the non-visible leaders that you can replace the pic with.

By the way, this feature is not described in the manual. I think it may be covered in the Readme file though.
