One idea since we are going to be building a coastal city is to find a name that fits a coastal nation. Say like Norway--fishing is a common job or Japanese

A compromise then? 'Hej' is almost hey. And I am not biased in any way. It also happens to be norwegian. Or 'God dag' (good day), 'Hejsan' (hello).

Well Hej is on the list. I have to agree with robboo we already have hello, no need for hey, hi, howdy, g'day ect.

Looking at the names i like Allegra, no particular reason just do

We have about 10 turns to decide so everyone put in your ideas. If there isn't a clear favorite we can have a poll towards the end.

I think it was swiss. But so far Hej is looking the favorite.

I think we need to keep G'day for a sheep city. Bonjour for a wine city. A good one for silks woudl be Persian(Iran). Dyes may be chinese. Spices something arabian or India/Pakistan/Thailand??

Btw, allegra is "Romansh" one of the four national languages in Switzerland. Also, Hej and hejsan is really Swedish, but Norwegians say them to. Don't know about their spelling though.
