well i think

either american 'Hey' or Australian 'G'day' would be best, represents the nationalities on our team really.

nah we have Hello...no need for "Hey"

One idea since we are going to be building a coastal city is to find a name that fits a coastal nation. Say like Norway--fishing is a common job or Japanese

A compromise then? 'Hej' is almost hey. And I am not biased in any way. :mischief: It also happens to be norwegian. Or 'God dag' (good day), 'Hejsan' (hello).

Well Hej is on the list. I have to agree with robboo we already have hello, no need for hey, hi, howdy, g'day ect.

Looking at the names i like Allegra, no particular reason just do:)

We have about 10 turns to decide so everyone put in your ideas. If there isn't a clear favorite we can have a poll towards the end.

Allegra is what language?

Hejsan or Hej sounds good going with my theme.

I think it was swiss. But so far Hej is looking the favorite.

Swiss...hmmm lets put that one surrounded by hills and mountains. :)

I think we need to keep G'day for a sheep city. Bonjour for a wine city. A good one for silks woudl be Persian(Iran). Dyes may be chinese. Spices something arabian or India/Pakistan/Thailand??

How about a poll about the name? Our current list:
Hej
Hejsan
Allegra
G'day
Hey
Konichi wa (throwed in a japanese name, just for robboo)

Btw, allegra is "Romansh" one of the four national languages in Switzerland. Also, Hej and hejsan is really Swedish, but Norwegians say them to. Don't know about their spelling though.

Does anyone else (not Robboo, BCLG, Mr.C and myself) have any other suggestions?

i don't have any other suggestions, but i like the sound of Hej, myself.
