Nationality?

w00t this was a bump if i ever saw one!

I am born in Sweden of Swedish parents and therefore consider myself Swedish, which also is what my passport says. If I was to move to another country there are several possibilities for different reasons.

List some of them then :p

Im German, Norweigian, Irish, and Polish. im positive about the norwiegian irish and german but polish and many other eastern euro countries may be in my roots. but the US of A is my home.

25% Chinese and 75% Taiwanese.

But I consider myself to be a bit of an alien, because people tend to have this feeling of strangeness, or me not belonging when I'm around in both America and in Taiwan.

According to my heritage I am about 75% Prussian, but I view myself as an American before a Prussian. Yes I know Prussia no longer exists. I mean the Prussia of the 1800's. We were from an area in the former Danzig (Gdansk) Corridor.

American.

If I ever move out of this country, I'm gonna try real hard to learn the language of the country I'm going too.

I'm Dutch, or rather, Netherlandish.

From my father site, every single ancestor was born in the Netherlands tracable from 1800 or so.
My mother's mother's side is also fully Netherlandish.
My mother's father' family comes from Germany, but I do no exactly rememember where they decided to move. My grandfather's grandfather might be born in Germany, most certainly his father.

I was born in the eastern part of the Netherlands (thus not in Holland).

I always wonder howmany Americans (not only onn this site) have Irish, Scottish, German, native American, Italian, Spanish, Hispanic (whatever that may be), Dutch or Russian ancestors, whereas hardly anyone mentions English, French or African ancestors.

I guess around 1830, americans were mostly English/French/African, mixed with small portions of Dutch and Swedish.
I know huge immigration waves have been there, but most certianly the English and French roots must be there, right?
And African.... well, not too many blacks here, I guess.

Why not? :)

USA - California to be more specific. Never been there, seduced by American movie- and TV-industry. :p

Australia - Never been there either, but I reckon I could settle in there. Some of my friends go backpacking there every once in a while and they keep going back there for some reason. :)

Norway - Hey hey hey. :) Nice people, not too far away from home either. :p Been there just once, but I have lots of friends (Swedish) living and working in Oslo.

Canada - No, just kidding. :D

Yes, maybe, maybe, yes, no, no, no (unless you count portugese), maybe, yes.

For me, at least. ;)

I'm unsure exactly what my maternal grandfather's heritage was. Quite possibly there was Irish, Dutch, German and Scottish in him.

Ironically, I can claim the Irish through my Russian/Indian side of the family....

Thats because the French migrated to other areas outside America and the English migration was pretty far back timewise and was relativily small when compared to the waves of people from other european countries. To find english ancestry you have to stay on the east coast; New England Yankees and probably VA and the Carolinas.

That said I am an American and I have primarily English/Scots/Irish in my geneological record.

I consider myself Scandinavian, counting finland into that group aswell. If I had to move outside Scandinavia Id choose Ireland because I have some family connections there and like the music ;) .

100% American. ;)

By heritage, I am 50% Nowegian, 25% German/Swiss, and 25% European Mongrel (Mostly Scottish, but some English, French, and who knows what else thrown in).

I have lived in Germany and Italy, and have visited several other European countries, but if I really had to leave the USA, I think my first choice would be Australia.
