Nature Units

I, for one, would like to see a version of your thunderstorm with multiple clouds that darken and flash.

There are several separate clouds within the main storm that circulate continually. They also darken and flash in the 'attack' sequence. But, I agree, I was not entirely happy with the result. Several storms within a larger frame would look at lot more menacing and realistic. I'll see what I can do to update the unit. Thanks for the reminder Balthasar:)

That`s true...
... and makes a color-conversion of a Sandstorm some kind of senseless.

Not really. The Civ III desert colour is a bland speckled yellow. To have a sandstorm unit the same desert colour would make it almost invisible against that background and sandstorms are usually very visible. My preliminary sandstorm is predominately beige-brown but I like the idea of a storm within the brown-yellow-red spectrum and will try to emulate that effect for an improved unit when I have the opportunity.

RHODIE:
Your good knowledge about nature phenomens will surely bring up a unit ,that satisfies the CFC-Community again.:D

I would like to suggest a second version of the sandstorm as a blizzard - meaning same animation, just a color change.

Good idea as it would save time, except I think that the movement may be incorrect. Sand moves upwards to become a dense cloud before spiralling downwards, whilst snow usually just falls down from a cloud.
As some of you may know, I have been trying to assist with the CCM project testing. Once the CCM mod has been published and I have some extra time, I would like to tackle the blizzard and other unit proposals.

It shouldn’t be a problem, although I don’t really think that the Typhoon symbolises anything like a plague. Scurrying rats might be better but I don’t think anyone has created such an animation.
Anyway, just copy Typhoon_Attack.flc to:
CivIII or CivComplete\Conquests\Art\Animations\Plague folder. Rename the existing ‘plague.flc’ as ‘plague original.flc’ and then rename the copied ‘Typhoon_Attack.flc’ as ‘plague.flc’.
That will retain the original in case you wish to return.
There is one thing though – the plague.flc is a single camera SW perspective, slow speed and surrounds the city icon. The Typhoon_Attack.flc is an eight direction perspective, fast speed and should cover the city icon.
Nevertheless, the typhoon animation should work just the same as the original plague animation when the city succumbs to that fearful disease.
Let me know how it turns out.

There is such a unit. What would work for the typhoon would also work for the rats.
It might, depending on the animation. I still think that the vultures circling are a great 'death' animation. I've tried searching for a Civ III rat unit but can't find any link. Can you help?

Google for "Rat Swarm" ; "Rat Warrior" ; "Brown Clanrat" ; "Bilge Rat" ; "Clan Rat" ; "Digging Rat Animation" ; "Giant Rat" ; "Rat Ogre" ; "Rat Tank" ; "Ratling Gun" ;
additionally you can find even more when googling for "Skaven".

This Unit has an fidget with a running Rat in it :

Thanks for that. I tried 'rat' but wasn't going to spend too much time wading through all the possibilities. It was just of some interest.

Thanks for the responses.

I am going to change the name of the disaster from Black Death to Hurricane.

If you do then I think that you will have to change the name in the conquest.biq to 'Hurricane' (Open with editor - scenario properties\disasters\plague) as well as change the name of the plague folder, plague.flc, plague.ini and details in the ini.
