Naval Mod, from 4000 BC to 2000 AD

Okay, I understand. It is a better idea putting it as an American Better Frigate UU. I had always understood it as being in the middle and that was why I said so. In a fair one-on-one fight with a frigate it should win. However, a Ship Of The Line would be a more risky affair... It will be great to see how this mod gets implemented. Whether it gets used by any other mods as a basis for their naval warfare component...
 
Normally they should win.

The USS Chesapeake was lost to a British Frigate, the HMS Shannon, in an Epic fight. But the HMS Shannon would be the equivalent of a Drill IV, combat 2 Frigate, it was extremely efficient and well trained.

So it would not be %100 for sure as the US frigates were just a bit larger and a bit better built (The RN was starting to run out of timber some to).

Anyways, I am still working on it, but just slowly.
I have %80 of the new UU's in, I cannot wait to let you all try. :P

I will mention this again, of the Indian ships posted on page one, which would be the best UU?
 
I am just about to upload a new version.

Almost everyone has a New Ship UU.
And it introduces a new water trading system! It is basically roads on water, so no more of that being able to trade with a civ halfway around the world without actually having to defend the route!
Most of the ships can build them, but the merchant type build faster than the war types.
They speed up movement, as in history you were more comfortable in already explored waters and they are needed to trade for oversea resources. It will hopefully make blockading more powerful!

Excellent idea on the shipping routes, I was going to try to implement something like this myself... If you ever need help with anything, get in touch with me, I'm looking forward to this mod alot... It is Warlords only though?

Yes, it is only for Warlords, but I might be able to do a conversion eventually into Vanilla. The thing is is that some of the Python would have to be redone, as it is somewhat useful (Making units go obsolete at a certain tech as there is few upgrades).

I would add in a custom Trireme to so we wouldn't be giving Firaxis stuff away but you couls still have the trireme..
 
Well, there's no need to bring it back to Vanilla with BtS coming soon anyway, so don't go out of your way planning it, I just inquired more out of curiosity because if my help were needed I can work with Warlord's python, although it's difficult, but I'm not sure about Warlord's SDK. Is there anything I could help with though?
 
Hmm, well I asked Dom about this and he said he would get to it, but I understand he is a busy guy and do not want to throw too much on his plate.

I would like to get TheLopez's airforce mod integrated with the stuff Dom did for me as I would really like to get an interception tag into the promotions XML file for a AA guns promotion. It is in TheLopez's Airforce mod so.

BTW, I just uploaded the new version, try it out. ;)

Hmm... I'm having trouble using the download database... It should be easy to implement once I get the files but I have to get them first... Give me a bit.
 
Well then, apparently CFC doesn't want me getting either your files or TheLopez's off the database right now... Not sure what that's about... Is there any other way I could get the files? If not, sorry = \

Cool. I do have some stuff I really have to get to, but I have been wanting to do a better ironclad cruiser..
 
They need both specifically, or just one, or just one from that era?
