Any chance of a PT Boat from WWII? I thought that would fit into the mod very nicely as well as being useful for WWII mods. I just remembered seeing obsolete tag when I was working around in the .xml file for the units. Try looking carefully through and you will find it. Or copy one of the unit instructions from the UnitInfo.xml think it is and paste it into a word document and print... Healz.

I was definitely thinking of this, could you please explain the exact role of it so I could put the stats in? Just a fast, small, hit-and-run torpedo boat? Sounds fun.

About the obsolete thing, no worries, as above, Dom Pedro made me a nice thing in the SDK that does it really well!

Edit: Oh yes, does anyone know what the <aiweight> (Approx) just under the prereqs in the UnitInfos does? I am hoping it makes the AI build more ships.

I have also made most cruiser's and destroyer's default AI Escort, Battleship's and Sub's Attack etc. May make it more interesting..

I have never actually got Conquest, it is still like $50 at Amazon.ca.
But then maybe I love the options of Civ 4...
 
This mod? I don't know, depends on how creative I feel. :p I want to add unique ships (already have a list mostly) and make it work for BTS when it comes out.. Maybe a few more ships.. you know tweaking.
 
I think that might be what it does but one of the best methods is to try experimenting with values in the AIweight column and see what happens. The PTBoat should have an air defence value as it carried guns and sometimes shot down planes but this should be relatively low, also it should have a low defensive value as they were mostly wooden, thin skinned boats that would sink if a destroyer rammed through them. Maybe half the defensive value of the destroyer and maybe 3/4 of the attack value of the destroyer. I don't know, it might require experimentation to balance it.

The problem with PT boats is it is all in the PWR stat, no attack and defence, though there is modifiers for the above.

So PT boats carried Torpedos as their chief armament? They dart in, torpedo the big battleship and dart out?

I have some ideas for you but they might require some graphics work on your part(some ship creation from you).

How about fill up all the sailing ship slots for the asian civs with Junk-like ships?

There are two Junks I know of, a Galley and another ship, but it would be nice to see a medival galley junk, Frigate, a Privateer, a Caravel, and a Ship of the Line Junk.

Your familiar with junks right? I'll post some concept art of completed CIV3 units a guy named Aaglo made shortly.

For example heres Aaglo's War Junk, a Frigate replacement:

Just make one abit bigger to make a Ship of the Line version.

Yes, there is a junk from the Chinese reunification mod, and a Turtle ship, both unique ships (One for China, the other for Korea.)

But on your suggestion, I probably will do that, it would make it much more realistic! I have a little bit of other stuff to finish/do first, but If I put my mind to it. :P

To all: Of the ships posted for India on page #1 I think it was, what would you all think would be the best for a UU?

Yes, there is a junk from the Chinese reunification mod, and a Turtle ship, both unique ships (One for China, the other for Korea.)

The Turtle ship was in the Mongol scenario.

Hmm.. the one in the scenario might not be a turtle ship actually... I can't remember. All I know is that I thought it was completely useless since there were no other maritime forces to deal with in the scenario.
 
Ah, it was called Ship_Asian or something and I just took it to be a junk. It is in the Chinese scenario too I think. Probably for Naval transport? I have never played the Chinese one before, and only a little on the Mongol one when it crashed when I met the guy with Mehmed's figurehead. But the sail will be a help when playing around to get more Asian ships!
