Well, that looks like another goof for me -- I should have asked WinRAR to produce a .zip instead of a .rar. Should I go back and add a .zip to the first post?

Nope no victory yet. I havent even gotten applo program finished yet cuz I only just recently teched out rocketry.

I couldnt help it I HAD to get all those cities pretty FIRST hehe . So I spent LOTS of turns teching out health and happy techs and building those buildings along with some wonders. And having my workers fix up all the land.

I also did a lil religion spamming:

for more happy buildings plus it also let me put the big cathedral type buildings in my broder cities to help keep the AI's from culture pressing me too much and it also added gold from shrines

I also did a lil corps spamming:

This map not good for sushi at ALL but it let me try the cerel corps which is doing ok on this map. Mining helping out a lil too hehe

When my cities werent making buildings and missionaries and execs and stuff they did make some units to beef up the military.

I added some modern units to old big stack.

I was also able to make a new stack to help the old stack just in case it had too much for it to handle

I also made a few bombers. I didnt go overboard and put 8 in every city. I stopped with like 125 or so.

So with what I HOPE is a strong enough military to keep me safe and with all my cities pretty THEN I felt I could make a run for space.

Then this happened:

That city I flipped a few turns ago eventually ended up flipping a city on its own hehe.

And that kind of leaves me in a lil dilemma. Here are vic conditions now:

Seems I am very very VERY close to dom win now.

I might even get it if that new city pops. and I SHOULD get it pretty quick if I just take out a few of silly's cities on my border. I might not even have to wait for them to pop. And I usually try not to sound TOO over confident but I have to say I am VERY sure I have the mil strength now to get that done pretty easy

So try for space and just in case culture pressing doesnt get me dom win or just end this thing now? Not really sure since like I said I would feel REALLY bad about backstabbing Nappy since he HAS been a fairly nice team player most of the game.

But then again:

In diplo sitch you can see he been messing with his civics so that we are dropping FAST. We've gone from a high of over plus 20 down to just plus 9. Add in hidden diplo hits from having a vassal and he really not ALL that nice as he was before. Plus TECHNICALLY I would only be attacking his vassal silly who has been frying my cheese the hole game with his spies. I sewar they have blown up the EXACT same mine like 20-30 times already grrrr.

So not sure what I will do but I have to say just hitting silly for a few turns then hoping thats enuff for dom win is getting VERY tempting.

Been so busy going after stuff like Plastics and Recycling and genetics that I let the AI's get a tech on me again grr. But my bpt strong enuff that I can tech out artillery pretty fast and then go back tp spacey techs.

They all look very nice now. My fave is the culture grah. I LOVE how pacs drop when I take those cities who built MY wonders hehe

I seem to be doing pretty good here too.

Okies so thats it at this point. I think its FAIRLY safe now to say this game pretty much over and it just matter of deciding how I want to win. Go for space and stay nice with my buddies. There is even a chance some culture pops might get me dom win even b4 I get to space. Or attack Nappys vassal that lil dillhole sillyman and try and wrap this game up asap.

Not sure which way I will go but am pretty sure that no matter what next report SHOULD be a voctory report so wish me luck

@dalamb putting up a zip file might be helpful but I dont think its really necasary .rar files really arent THAT hard to deal with just cuz there are TONS of free easy to use programs that can open em. Its those dumb .7z files that mess me up. I have found just ONE free program for those and it is NOT easy to use. At least not for me anyways. But no biggie and dont worry its your first time hosting so minor lil glitches now then to be expected.

@KaytieKat: It was easy enough to add a .zip, so I did so. Eventually I suppose I should delete the .rar but it seemed more conservative to leave it in for now.

Everything seems ok except for begin/end unit lines, but to be fair, if people want to play this above monarch they can figure that out on their own .

@TMIT - I tried to follow your instructions; what did I do wrong with the begin/end unit lines?

Well I decided to be nice and go for spaceship. I still had most of my border cities pushing culture just in case they could press into the other AI's borders enough to put me over top for dom win. And sure enough:

I dont think I ever got that high a score THAT late in a game b4. I gues it must been a combo of just such a HUGE map and the ford corp boosting pop. Anyways I managed to get through this game without getting whomped and thats always nice hehe So thanks Dalamb and everybody else and see y'all next game

Noble / Normal - 25AD first update.

Ok so after seeing how many cities some of you've got i'm quite embarassed, but i still havent completed a game on noble so it's ok i guess.

Tech order – Polyethism / Agriculture / Masonry (popped from goodie hut) / Mining / BW / wheel / Pottery / Writing / Mathematics / IW / Alphabet / Priesthood /

Settled in place.
Popped hut for 79 gold. Another for 35 gold.
Got Hinduism in 3600BC.
We meet Qin & Zara.
Settled 2nd city next to the gold to the east.
We got the Henge in 1800BC. We meet Suleiman.
Meet napoleon & Hannibal.
We’ve got Iron!

Did some backfill by trading mathematics to Suleiman for Archery / Fishing / Meditation / Preisthood.
Also traded with Zara – Mathematics for Mono.
We immediately swith to organized religion.
Next tech – CoL / Litreature

Barbs start showing up. We got Confucianism our 2nd religion. Adopt caste system. Start researching aesthetics.
Hannibal comes asking for Mysticism we give in. On the same turn Zara comes asking for CoL I refuse too expensive a tech to just give away.
Our tech rate is good thanks to the gold and the flood plains which I am exploiting for cottages.
Its 25AD and we have got four cities. Zara has expanded towards my borders. And that’s the summary for my first update.
I am happy with my teching but somehow feel I should have done more … grabbed only one wonder the cheap henge, I was hoping I could get the oracle but left it for too long.
Military – Needs to be beefed up so some work to be done in the next segment. I think I have a decent start but no clear edge.

Ok so here we go – first priority settle a few more cities quickly.

Tech Order – So after Lit its --- Construction / Music (for the free GA) / Calendar / Currency /

We trade CoL for Monarchy with Zara and switch to Hereditary rule for the extra happiness.

Zara, Sulaiman & Qin seem to be pals, not good. Hannibal declared on Suleiman! Bad news is he asked for my help and I am in no position for a war so now he’s annoyed with me. But he’s too far away for me to worry about right now.

Napolean demands meditation and I give in …. For now.

Pacal demands construction … we refuse.

Traded Aesthetics for HBR with Qin.

Oh … we got the GA from Music and used him for a culture bomb in Gergovia.

Suleiman & Hannibal finally end their war.

So in summary 1010 AD – I’ve only got 6 cities up. My settlers on his way to the 7th location. I’m still no closer to a win than I was at 25AD ….

Zara and pacal are teching strongly. I will need to take Zara out sometime soon.
