Do normal workers magically become fast workers as well if you steal them or is that just my imagination?

You can also use fast workers as scouts. As long as you have a move left you can run away from a barbarian or an animal that pops up next to you when exploring.

that is because they are now slaves. and we all now they work faster with some encouregement.

Just beware of black cats, they move faster then you in the jungle.

Yeah forgot about panthers (and wolves) with their 2 moves. Maybe only a good plan to explore with them once animals have stopped appearing then. Probably best to stick to unforested flat land as well which is the opposite of how I explore with scouts.

Do panthers have mobility or something then?

no, I think they are just coded like that.
But using fast workers for scouting is like this.
1 more move, YIKES!!!

It's only really safe to use 2 of their moves though becasue you don't want to end up next to a barbarian, you only bust fog 1 square around yourself.

If you are only worried about barbs (and I've never seen a barb horse archer in Vanilla, seen 1 in Warlords, that was a surprise), then if you have that spare move then they are basically scouts that can't be attacked!

Well, the consensus is to use Ghandi, so that will be our leader. He starts with mystisicm and mining, and his UU is the fast worker. What strategies should we employ? Heavy religion, with a GA farm? A utilization of stonehenge to max out GP? Either way, an SE seems to be the way to go.

Well, for starters, past a screenie of the start position.
1 religion to start with, and then 2 or 3 of the later ones? so the first can spread to our other cities without much effort. And brainwash our neighbours.
Stonehenge for early culture and shrine. We will definatly need some more easy profet buildings.
I'm for building in another city our GA wonders and the national epic.
I'm not good in a SE, so that would be educational for me.

If going for cultural I would skip stonehenge and build obelisks instead, they don't lose their culture after calendar. Build Oracle instead for GP points.

On noble you can ussually get both in the same city. And with some luck it will be your holy city.
