Need a good school website design

So, I want to take over the school's website, because our current one sucks, and the one who maintanes it, well doesn't maintane it. So what would be a good layout for a school website? Also I know basic HTML, plus I could find advance stuff on the internet to make it look good.

I looked around at school's webistes at my state, but they all have the same basic layout..need something eye catching..hmm...

Collect all your hot Cheerleaders, and get them to stand naked only holding a sign saying: <name of your school>, because we know how to have fun!. Just covering their vital areas, would get you a lot of attention, and you might even get on TV!

Also have them soaping eachother in with sponges.

Good news: It's eye catching...VERY eye catching

Bad News: Not all the cheerleaders are hot And I dont think they would do it. And I think the school would kick me and the cheerleaders out...

dont do anything in flash...not yet at least. Plus make sure the colors and the text are appealing..
