OKey, this is the first time I play civ3 for real...I tested it a bit before but this time im trying to play a full game..and I have come across a few problems. Btw I have played civ2 quite a few times in the past...anyway

I play on Medium mapsize I think and with only 6 civilizations still alive (I needed more leibenraum) I have conquered between half and a third of the map.

All citities in the edges of my empire has 1 shield in production. I have built the forbidden palace on my second mainland so that area is doing ok but the rest of the empire isnt really producing anything..I just let the cities grow and then draft infanteryunits with nationalism...the year is atm 1942..

Well..my enemies have smaller empires and seem to be able to produce faster than me. And they just passed me in science.

I play communism and are at war with 2 civs right now. When that is over i expect someone else to declare on me..SO I need a big army in every corner of the empire..

Well...I need to produce armies faster and yet not fall behind in culture. Meanwhile I need to aquire science faster..Should I change to demoracy? Or is there anything else I can do? I have tons of resourses but noone wants to trade with me for some reason..

Also any opinions of what way i should try to win? I have by far the biggest army but its all infanterymen by now. It takes a long time to reach the borders cos of the huge distances....Well Im just looking for some general tips.

I have 3k income and -400 maintainance -1500 to corruption and then science and the other stuff makes me just breake even with 50% spending on science and 10% on luxuries.

welcome to cfc!

needed more 'lebensraum'?? interesting ... what kind of political writing were you reading? :)

to your problem: it all depends on the difficulty level, that you missed to tell us, i think. beside of that, you mention almost every clasic civ3 problem, so an answer will not be brief and short.

easiest question for victory condition: you seem to be on the road to domination.

For detailed advice the version of civ you are playing would help. As it is, the only thing I can say is try a bit of pointy stick reaserch to catch up ;)

Heya, oh well..I was squezed...however you spell it...in with america and aztek civ on the same continent so they had to go =)

..anyway its original civ3 and not the expansion version and I play on warlord level. Well domination will be really tough cos...when i get my tanks up i might be able to take some town but I have to transport all my troops by boat from my mainlands. But I cannot sustain an invasion of an enstire civilisation because they have good production and I have a sea to cross to get to em. ANd im already railroaded up.

Well...should I go democracy cos my enemies seem to get alot more science with democracy while I have corruptionism..ehm i mean communism government.

Im not looking for an answer of how to fix all these problems but some tips that may help. It takes heaps of time to cross the osceans..

Sounds like you didn't attack early enough (getting control of your continent first and then start for a beach head on the other areas). Try republic not democracy if you plan on fighting though, the war wearyness is better and the commerce bonus is just the same (corruption only slightly higher)

I am afraid I am not familiar with the corruption model in original civ3, but I seem to remember there was somthing dodgy like the FP could increase your corruption, 'cos it increase the rack corruption for cities closer to the FP than the palice, or something like that. I am sure someone can tell you the details.

Do you have flight? If you do, you can build an airport and rush units over like that. You have a load of air strips on your home island, and each one can move a unit per turn to the other side of the world.

It is quite possible to do a long distance invasion, but it needs a lot of planning and build time, as well as the travelling time. A guide is here http://www.civfanatics.com/civ3acad_conquering_abroad.shtml

It is a decision you have to make. Either go for war, and catch up that way, as well as knocking them back. Or go for peace, and try to catch up with the reprasenttive govenments. Without seeing the game, and not knowing your style or skills, I would say going for war is likely to be a more sure option, esp. if they already have a lead on you.

Keep us informed, and good luck.

More railroads more railroads more factories more power plants or hoovers more airports.

Maybe you should try using the Republic Government? It allows for warmongering without getting too dragged down by War Weariness, but still has a commerce bonus.

Also, I find it pretty hard to get outproduced on Warlord if you're doing hat.

(Oh, and by the way, are your lands fully improved?)
