Need help making transition from Warlord to Prince

I see that you created the Pyramids. I would discourage building Pyramids unless you have a fantastic and wonderful start. The 25% tile improvement bonus isn't worth it. The 2 workers can be worth it, but it seems that for the most part your land is improved and you didn't need the workers and now they're just eating up your GPT.

It's difficult to maintain 5 cities with so few river tiles and with such crappy pop. With the crap pop, you're not working gold tiles you need to have worked to prevent a deficit.

In fact, the demographics you're showing should really tell you a lot about what's up: You have the largest land area by far but your population is atrocious. Population weighs heavily into your tech rate as well as having workable tiles, so you're doing yourself no favors by being in the middle of the pack in science when you have double the cities the AI has (thus meaning you should be blowing apart their tech rate). Are you running all of your cities on Production focus? I can't think of any other reason your pop is so low.

Speaking of which, you are changing your focus to Production when building settlers, right? The city won't grow while building them so there's no reason to work food tiles while building them. I'm guessing you built a settler in Paris with food production or something? I just can't see another reason why you could have such low pop with so many food tiles in Paris.

I have made the Prince to King shift and may be working on moving to Emperor when I gain the confidence.
Good tips above, but I would change stay ahead in science a little, to stay ahead as much as possible.
If you get to Industrial by 1300, you are on your way to King and maybe above.

Yeah of course. That is impossible for him and most of Prince players. I usually hit Industrial around year 1600 or Modern in 1650 with Korea (Jahan i think you never hit Industrial in year 1300 except with Korea, dude i now you are not bad player but to hit Industrial in 1300AD that is very powerful)

About game:
First your science if awful(theology in turn 95 oh dear god) i hit Physics,Steel or Chivalry in that year(with 6 cities all size 4 at least and unversities gunpowder around turn 110). So best army in medival era are: 4 Knights and 3 Trebuchets. You need to hit these to techs around turn 120 (Chivalry should be replaced with Steel) build 4 Longswords/Knights and 3 Trebuchets around turn 140.And then hit all map with that powerful army. Probably with 4 cities you need at least 60 :c5science: per turn. And you are in -16 in :c5gold: that is very bad :( better start a new game than continuing this :( this will only bring pointless and agonizing Death.

I think what you might be trying to say is that most people who do this on Prince are better than Prince players :).
I have hit industrial in 1300 with Babylon.
But it wasn't easy and I had to focus on science a lot.
If you don't use Korea or Babylon, you can still hit Industrial in 1500 if you really try.

Did you really hit Modern in 1650 with Korea!?
Nice job :goodjob:

Players better than both of us (there are quite a few) can hit modern by 1500 without Babylon or Korea.

Back to the OP, science may be an option with Cultural and Diplomacy games, but not for Domination.
You should be 1st in research almost always.
If you slip behind every now and then that is okay.
This may sound crazy, but once you beat Prince with a Science victory, move to King.
Domination and Diplomacy in King aren't that different than with King because you can trade extra resources to the AI for :c5gold:.
In King, the AI starts with more gold and makes more gold in general.
I find Babylon easier on King than on Prince because that extra gold can be used for Bowman rush.
Bowmen are cheap, they are 200 :c5gold: like warriors.
The AI will usually give 240 :c5gold: for a resource and 50 :c5gold: for open borders.
Do this lots of times for more gold and try out the Bowman rush.
Note 1: If they don't like you or don't have gold, they will give less for resources than they should.
If you don't want to use Bowman rush, that is fine.
Just take liberty, build more cities than usual, and plant 1 or 2 academies down. No more than that.
All this research will usually get you to Industrial by 1450 at the least.
Note 2: The above strategy only works with Babylon.
Note 3: A similar strategy to Bowman Rush is Landskecht Rush. This is for Germany so it is good for you. Settle your capital, take Honor, get 1-2 workers to make your capital productive, beeline to Civil Service, and rush Landscnekts. They are almost as cheap as warriors to buy or build.

So I hope this helps:)
I am not the best civ player ever, but if you would like more tips, just ask.
Artingel is not bad either.
