need help.....PLEASE

I am playing a bigger than 8 civ world right now, for the first time, and when I open up the Diplomancy screen I only see so many civs,and not the ones I want to see, how do I change this??? Please help.

Also I got 4 techs for 160 gold and my world maps which I just traded to most everyone else anyhow, I was overjoyed with this trade!!!

I havn't tried this yet, but in the readme.txt it says:

* When playing a game with more than 8 civilizations, you can assign specific civilizations to specific slots on the foreign advisor. Shift+Right-Click on the slot you want to change and select the civilization.
